  We would never recommend Marina Bay Roofing. We contacted Marina Bay in early June and hired them to replace one skylight and install two new ones. Initially they quoted this as a three-day job with an approximate completion date of late June. In reality, the work was not actually finished until mid August. Work was intermittently done and our bedroom “under construction” for 13 days…! Our frustration with Marina Bay comes down almost entirely to their project manager, Gabriel. Alex, the foreman, and the workers who did the actual labor were skilled, hardworking, and did a great job; the final skylights look good and we’re confident in the install. The problems were entirely about communication and project management. Gabriel repeatedly gave us information that turned out to be incorrect. He set timelines the company then missed, and often was unresponsive to texts, calls, and emails, leaving us to follow up at every step. The crew no-showed on two separate occasions with no advance heads-up from Gabriel or owner Michael either time. On multiple days my partner and I were forced to stay home and wait, twice for more than eight hours, for teams that arrived very late or not at all. When we escalated, owner Michael, was helpful early on with getting the skylights ordered, but he later disputed on the phone that weekend work had ever been scheduled, despite Gabriel having put date/times in writing. Owner Michael was also only intermittently responsive to text messages. Gabriel was completely absent. He’d tell us he was “waiting outside the apartment for the crew to arrive,” but when we’d ask him to come up to show face and discuss the project he’d suddenly be away “getting a coffee,” never to return. Other times he’d say he was “arriving with the crew at 11AM” only to have his crew show up at SIX THIRTY PM (!), without Gabriel; work that day was completed near 8PM. On rare occasions he did answer the phone, he’d introduce himself as an Equinox employee… yikes. Gabrie
