3 pieces of soffit needed to be reinstalled after a windstorm knocked it out. Was quoted $700 to replace it. Tired of these contractors trying to take advantage of me. Paid a local handyman to do it for $100 and it took him 15 minutes

I hired them to put a new roof on my house. They did not put 6 nails in each shingle as required by code. I heard them nailing in the shingles and only heard 5 hits from the nail gun. …

For anyone reading this review, it's important to understand the process we follow. On the day of installation, homeowners should expect the following:The assigned project manager inspects the material for damage and accuracy. The crew sets up tarps and impact protection to safeguard the property. The crew removes the existing roof system, exposing the wood decking (plywood). The wood decking is inspected and replaced as necessary. The new roof system is installed, and material is cleaned up around the property.Upon completion, the project manager inspects the installation for quality assurance before collecting payment. On the day of this particular install (a Wednesday), I delivered our dump trailer at approximately 7:00 a.m. and inspected the material. Some of the bundles were damaged during shipping, so I notified the supply house and arranged for the entire load to be replaced to ensure a consistent color lot. This process took time, but the crew was able to clean up most of the debris ahead of schedule, allowing for training opportunities. This delay resulted in the crew finishing later in the day, which meant the project manager couldn't conduct the walkthrough. We explained this to the homeowner and scheduled it for the following morning. The homeowner made the following points:“Only heard 5 hits from the gun.”“They left debris on top of bushes (plural) and on my deck.”“The owner, Joe, never apologized and made up a lame excuse about a new guy on the job.”“They had to come back and lift every shingle and put the proper amount of nails.”“Do yourself a favor and use another contractor.”It is important to note that this homeowner is a small business owner with over 20 years of experience providing residential and commercial services, which is relevant for several reasons. At 7:46 a.m. the following day, the homeowner sent the first set of text messages regarding the “5 nails.” At this point, the roof had not been inspected or marked as complete. I was on-site with my

Hey KRISTINA C. Funny that you used the name "Karen", very fitting. You can't hide behind a fake name considering you are 1 of 2 customers we denied service to this year. Not a very long list. Let me be brief for the people reading this. Kristina and her husband, Pete, began contacting my office in January of 2024 complaining of a leak on a 2 year old roof that we did not install. They called two other times, all 3 times hired other local contractors (which is perfectly fine) that were unable to source and fix the leak. On March 18, 2025 Kristina canceled the appointment for the water test that was schedule for that same day, last minute, leaving us with a gap in our work schedule that we were not able to fill last minute. On March 26, 2025, I, with two of my employees performed a water test which took several hours and positively determined the source of the leak. I then provided them with a verbal quote same day for the cost of the repair. I explained to them very clearly that I was uncomfortable proceeding due to what could only be described as them projecting their frustrations with the previous contractors onto me and my staff. I told them to think about it and would send a written proposal after they made their decision, whether they wanted to move forward. Kristina started calling my office the next business day and nastily demanding the written estimate before anything was finalized verbally. When I spoke to Pete, the husband, he felt the price was too high and demanded a discount saying that he had already spent too much money on this project. (Note, he boasted about forcing one of the other contractors to issue him a full refund. They have also written a 1 star review for that contractor at the same time as this one, months after receiving a full refund. I will be sure to call them to let them know who in fact wrote the review, if they haven't figured it out already.) I had decided to deny them service, as is my right as a business owner, due

Hi "Van", I am very sorry you feel this way but allow me the opportunity to add some detail for the sake of clarity. You first called my office on 4/12/23 and we were there 4/13 and gave you a quote for $400. You finally signed on 5/1/23 for $300.Work was performed on 5/10/23 and invoiced on 5/11/23. After several unpleasant phone calls and emails you finally paid on 5/22/23. 71 days after the work was completed (7/20/23) - not one week later - you came to my office and claimed we didn't do the work we were hired to do correctly. The exact wording on the contract states "reconnect downspout on front right side of home to gutter" and "clean gutters". That is exactly what was done. No more, no less. Your above picture clearly shows that the downspout is still firmly connected to the gutter but has since come apart in the middle and lower sections for whatever reason. We did not ignore the middle and lower sections as they were never part of the agreement because they were not disconnected either time we were there. Normally I would "swing by for 10 minutes", however, after you gave us a hard time paying and were blatantly disrespectful to my staff and myself I made the decision to not pursue any future work with you outside of any active warranty. That decision still stands. For anybody reading this, please refer to the separate review submitted by my office showing pictures of the area in question. Google does not allow us to post pictures when responding to a review. Joe the Roofer LLC tries to make sure all of our customers remain satisfied with our work but as we all well know, there's always that one.

Cheap. Pretends to be a sweet, customer driven and family oriented business when it is not. Owner will sell you on a warranty but will not honor it if damages occur. Same quality of work can be found elsewhere for better prices. I do not recommend.

While we are always looking to get reviews from our customers, we have gone through our records, estimates and payments and we have not done any work for anyone with this name. Is it possible you have us confused with another roofing company? We would appreciate if you could check your records and remove this negative review as it can be damaging to a company's reputation. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please feel free to contact our office at 732-333-0165. Thank you, Joe the Roofer LLC. Freehold, NJ

Job site was left spotless, all staff members, including Hannah, Mike, Allison and Dawn. We’re always courteous, helpful and pleasant to work with Mike stopped in a few times to see if we had any questions about the project. I definitely would Joe The Roofer a 10 star rating. A very professional staff communication was great throughout the whole job. I would definitely recommend them to others.

Full disclosure, Joe did not do my roof. However, he was kind enough to let us do a k-turn in his driveway “against his knowledge”. 10/10, his roof looked excellent.

I contacted Joe the Roofer to have 3 oversized windows installed. Hannah came to my location and showed me options and discussed the project. She was knowledgeable and professional. She explained there would be a delay due to the windows being special order. I was impatient and contacted the office for updates. They made sure to schedule my house as soon as the windows were available. On installation day, the workers were quick, meticulous, clean (laid drop cloths to keep it clean and removed all debris that day). After the install, I was contacted to ensure everything went as planned. It was a wonderful experience proving why local small businesses are superior. Thank you to the Joe The Roofer team.

I only had my redone about seven years ago by a different company so I shouldn’t have needed a repair. The old company had come back a few times to repair shingles that have come off on the overhang and after the third time it happened I decided to go with someone else to fix it. By the time this happened, there already would damage underneath the roof. Joe The Roofer came To give me an estimate within a few days of my request and then another week or so to do the repair. They cleaned up everything and they charged me what I thought was fair. But what stuck out to me was how nice everyone was in dealing with them. From their headquarters to Carlos doing the assessment to the workers: Everyone was professional and kind. I would definitely do business with them again.
