  I am writing this to warn other homeowners about my experience with J&M Roofing Industries and their contractor, James. James demanded full payment promising the roofing project would be completed by some certain date Instead as soon as the money was exchanged, he completely stopped showing up. The roof is currently left completely unfinished, exposing my home to potential weather damage. I have attempted to call, text, and email James and the main office multiple times over the past 8 months but my messages are completely ignored. This is entirely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior.

  James the owner took money from me and refuses to finish the work. He keeps giving excuses, that is sick or he is on vacation in Florida etc. Big harassment. All money is already paid I have signed acknowledgment from him.

  Thank you for your review. We respectfully disagree with your characterization of the project. The original scope of work was quoted and agreed upon for $10,000. Due to the urgency of the situation, we mobilized a crew of seven and completed the work within two days of receiving the signed agreement and deposit. During the project, additional work was requested that was not included in the original proposal, including gutter cleaning, cleaning roof areas outside the original scope, and removing debris left by a previous roofing contractor. Although these items were not part of our agreement, we completed them in good faith to accommodate your requests. Upon completion of the work, we requested the final payment as agreed. We were advised that payment would be provided the following day because a checkbook was unavailable. After several days of unanswered calls and follow-up attempts, a payment was eventually provided that was $1,000 less than the agreed contract amount, with the explanation that “it was what you felt the work was worth.” The leak condition that we were hired to address had been resolved. After the work was completed, the issue became a dispute regarding payment rather than workmanship. Due to the ongoing payment dispute, the repeated delays, and the unilateral reduction of the contract price after the work had already been completed, we informed you that we would not be performing any additional work beyond the original agreement. We take pride in responding quickly to emergency situations and completing the work we are hired to perform. We regret that this project ended in a disagreement, but we stand by the work completed and the documented scope that was performed.

  Incredibly rude over the phone. I called to ask some questions before my services and they answered me with attitude saying my questions were obvious. If your looking for a good roofing company with good service this is the LAST place I would recommend.

  This company agreed to install a solar attic roof ventilation fan but never completed the work. The fan should have been plugged into a regular outlet inside my attic to run the fan after dark and this was not done, but the installer said he did. Not so. They never provided any instruction on how to set up the wifi connection or even what software to use to do it. They provided no documentation for me to be able to figure this out on my own and were entirely rude when I called to ask for this- never sent. From what I can see they also didn't reinstall the roofing completely around the new fan. Will it leak? In no way would I recommend this company.

  BEWARE of this contractor. I hired him to repair the roof of my two car garage. He was supposed to install a ridge vent and replace the rotten wood boards. Recently, when i had my roof exposed from the inside and discovered there was no ridgevent and he had only replaced four woodboards. James charged me for 16 woodboards. Not to mention it took him 3 weeks to have the debris removed from my driveway and left the 4 woodboards that he replaced on my property. I have tried contacting them and no one responds. I am a senior citizen and am very upset that this company took advantagw of me!

  James and J&M Roofing did a complete new TPO roof for us and also repaired an EPDM roof. All I can say is excellent work, excellent pricing, and excellent communication. James took the time to explain everything to us. Was responsive. Showed up when they said they would. 10/10 company. Best commercial roofer in New Jersey!

  From my first contact, through discussion on what I wanted done including advice on the best options and methods, through completion of the work James was a pleasure to work with. He is professional, informative and always working to satisfy his customer. He was always available for any questions or last minute changes. J&Ms price was very reasonable, their workers were prompt, polite and incredibly hard working. Our job started on a very very cold day. The crew showed up as scheduled at 7:00 am and got right to work and worked consistently until sundown. Even after the roof replacement, James is working to fix one small remaining, unforeseen, issue that I just mentioned to him. I can’t say enough about how hard they work to satisfy their customer. I would recommend them to anyone.

  J&M replaced a shed roof for us. They were excellent! They did great work, arrived early, and took extra care cleaning up. I would highly recommend them. Excellent with communication. Fair and terrific work!

  J&M did a fantastic job replacing my roof. James was excellent working with me and answering all my questions. Very personable and helpful! Their quote was consistent with other companies and their customer service sealed the deal. The roof looks great, it was super easy and convenient for me, and the yard was immaculate when they were done. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for roofing services.
