  Had J&J come out and give a quote. after some time had passed I decided to bite the bullet and have it done. I contacted them to send contacts. They raised the price on me by 50%. After again taking some time to come up with the additional funds I contacted them to schedule the roof to be done. Their office tells me it must be scheduled with Rob Davis who gave the quote on the companies behalf. Only problem is the office will not help Rob get in touch Rob will not answer email and not pick up his phone. No Idea But I would give them 0 starts if I could

  I am sorry you are unhappy about your experience with us. I know there was back and forth on it and that ultimately we decided we could not do the job fast enough for you, and that we were not the best contractor to handle your needs on it, as from what we understand it possibly would involve an on-going legal matter and we typically do not bid work under those circumstances, something our inspector Rob did not know. We do care, but we don't always end up submitting a bid for every situation. Rob should have resolved that fast. That he did not do so possibly is based on him still considering what help he or we could be to you, but again, if one is going to be considering that, they should do it fast and let the customer know right away, so I understand this was a lapse in how that was handled.

  Very bad customer service, I requested an estimate from them for my own roof, the day I called they told me a rep name Rob will contact me to schedule an appointment, 2 weeks past by and nothing....I already signed a contract with another company.

  Our new roof from J and J is gorgeous and the process was excellent. View of our house from the curb is mostly roof, and J & J guided us to a beautiful and durable total replacement for our 30+ year old roof, choosing not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive material: we picked Certainteed Presidential Solaris TL in Country Gray and the result is magnificent. The communication skills from J and J were exemplary. They have a very accessible-at-all-times boss, Matt, for big strategic questions; then a supervisor, in our case, Justin, who answers more specific questions and figured out the weird tiny details of putting a roof on our eccentric 76-year-old house; then a foreman, actually on the job site, Marco, who has the how-to knowledge and directs the crew. All the workers are employees, not contractors; and they have all the insurance policies, etc. (a lot of formerly local roofers have been bought up by private equity and hollowed out - but not J and J, who are still the real thing, owned locally for decades by brothers Matt and Mike Glass.) J and J had been doing repairs on our roof for 28 years (always a good job, at a low price) and last fall, this roof was obviously past its useful life. There were four layers on the old one, including shake at the bottom, that had to be torn off; then a new deck built; a waterproof layer; and finally, the new shingles. It was going to be a big job. Getting a roof is like getting a tattoo — you want to do it right and do it once, because a do-over would be painful and expensive. Over the six months before the new roof we probably exchanged fifty emails with Matt Glass, a process that was extraordinarily helpful. Matt gave us guidance to drive around Glendale, Pasadena and Los Angeles and look at sample roofs in every material, in every color; it was during this run-up that we got a modern roofing education, courtesy of Matt.   J&J have been our roofers for over 15 years (both at home and at work) and has always done a great job right when they said they would. We recently sold our home and had them do some repairs at the last second (on a holiday weekend) to make sure we finished the work before sale closed. Can't thank Mike and Justin enough for getting things scheduled under duress and Carlos, Abel, Alfredo, and Menji for great work on a Saturday. I cannot recommend this company enough.

  4/24/2026 J & J Roofing installed my roof about 6 to 7 years ago. It has been completely trouble free. No leaks, no issues. Still, seven years in the sun is a long time, so I called them for a “Roof Check Up.” Alex came out, moved across the roof like a spider on a web, found a handful of non-serious issues, and fixed them on the spot as part of the checkup. I had a lot of questions about the condition of my roof and roofing in general. Alex could not have been more obliging. I know he is time constrained during a visit, but he clearly and succinctly addressed every question. It does not get any better than that. Thank you, Alex. As an aside, I also asked him to touch up the chimney flashing, the vertical metal piece where the chimney brick meets the roof tiles. Mine was structurally fine but looked ugly. He painted it, and it looks great now. Before calling J & J, I contacted a chimney company that wanted to replace the flashing entirely. Their price – hold your hat! $2900! My hat is off to J & J for their reasonable pricing. Overall: I have confidence in this company and the people that installed\service my roof. Recommended.

  Alex from J&J roofing came to do a repair job for a leak we had. He was on time, very professional, listened, and took his time to complete the job the proper way. I'm handy myself, perfectionist and not easy to please, but I was very impressed by his work.

  We have been working with J&J Roofing since May of 2022. At that time, we suffered damage in a room during the rains and interviewed many roofing contractors. All of the roofing contractors other than J&J Roofing advised us to re-roof our entire house. Even though the front half of the roof of a 50 year roof (which was installed before we owned the house and J&J Roofing as not involved) has not lasted anywhere near 50 years, the front side and back side have worn differently. All of the other roofers would not even re-roof just the front half - it was all or nothing. J&J said that they could easily repair the issue without re-roofing and it cost us less than $500 for them to repair it. The repair worked. Almost four years later (and they had told us that at least the front half of the roof had only a few years remaining), at least the front half of the roof needed to be replaced. Since they had been so fair and honest with us and we were pleased with their work, we did not bid out the project - they got it. As they had said before, only the front half of the roof needed to be replaced at this time (with a possible additional ten years on the back half). We own solar panels and they referred us to someone who agreed to remove and replace the panels for almost half the cost that the company which installed the panels would have charged us. While it's not inexpensive to re-roof a house (even half of a roof), we felt their price was fair, they saved us the additional $3,500 that our solar company would have charged, their staff and crew were and always have been very professional and honest. The roof looks wonderful and they coordinated scheduling for the solar panels to be removed and replaced. They collaborated with that business. We recommend J&J Roofing without hesitation.

  J&J has taken care of roofing at my sister's home and my home for many years. Recommend this company to everyone for home or commercial needs. We have had both new roofing and repairs. The work is quality, pricing is fair, and customer service is great.

  J&J were thorough, courteous and prompt with all their communications. After performing a complete inspection and diagnosis of the roof’s issues and probable cause of the leak they offered a variety of options as to address the issue with photos and their best recommendations (and it wasn’t the most expensive choice). No hard sales just straight talk. Their team, led by Carlos, worked fast and left the area cleaner than I left it (my gutters appeared to be free of debris too!). When it’s time to redo the whole roof, I’m calling J&J.

  The team at J&J roofing did a great job communicating and doing a thorough job installing a new roof for us in Pasadena. It is a flat roof and required some wood repairs and the removal of several layers. Ruben did a good job as foreman and they finished the job in a timely manner. I would recommend.

  Highly recommend J&J Roofing. Completely professional, and communicative throughout the entire process. Carlos, the foreman on my job was so nice, as was the whole team: nice guys! Fair price, nice people & excellent work. I’ll be dead before this house needs a new roof, but I’ll tell my kids about J&J! LOL
