  Was back in idaho for a vacation. Helping my mom and had them try and make a quote. Somehow they are wanting to charge more than 25% of the whole house worth for just a couple of doors, work around the windows, and some other items. This might have been maybe around 5-15k at most NOT 50K!!!!!!!! DO NOT TRUST THEM UNLESS YOU LIKE LOSING MONEY!!!!! Forgot to add we asked for an itemized list of the different things so we could decide what would be of most value but nothing. They also delayed their quote which is not professional.

  Hi, this is Austin, the estimator who measured the job. I would have preferred to review the quote with your mom and adjust it based on her priorities. When I called last week to go over door options, we weren’t able to finish the conversation, so we priced a higher-end set of full-replacement entry and storm doors (including interior and exterior trim), which are not inexpensive when done correctly. The rest of the scope is also custom work — architectural fascia and trim around the entire house, plus full siding and custom trim on the detached garage. That level of detail is simply more costly than basic replacements. I did tell you I’d try to have the quote by the end of the week. Our office later reached out because I had a family reunion I had overlooked. We should have communicated that more clearly, and I apologize for the inconvenience. If the number still feels high, I’m happy to walk through the scope and options by phone or in person so everything is transparent. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to continue the conversation.   Mikaela, I’m very sorry to hear that you are having issues with your basement. After having done a thorough review of your project, we would like to address your complaints: Throughout the course of your project we did our best to accommodate your personal scheduling needs, working around your children's sleep schedule and limiting noise from tools or compressors during specific times of the day. While we do our best sometimes construction is noisy, the dry wall crew did play music and sing while they were hanging your drywall. We asked them to stop and they did. We are also sorry for the miscommunication on painting your storage room. We did credit the amount on the final bill, and at the time you were happy with the resolution. The rest of the issues we feel would be considered wear and tear, tub caulking and towel bars being among the few complaints you mentioned. We returned at no cost to address issues such as these that would be normally classified as wear and tear, such as resetting the basement door hinges and door handles a year after the build was done, and offered to do so again. We do stand behind our work and our subcontractors, but are limited to the quality of building materials chosen by the homeowner. In your contract you specified to match what was existing in the home, which was MDF trim, hollow core doors, fiberglass tub and surround and existing carpet. In addition to this you supplied the vanities for the bathroom. While we are happy to address any issues or complaints you have, we can not change the quality of the products chosen. The accusation of lying or being unprofessional in this particular instance is very surprising as your project was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. We feel that we did our very best to accommodate your family and your specific needs during construction. Our work was permitted, and inspected, and signed off on after a final walk through.   Wow! That was fast! After making the appointment, Justin was here the next day. He climbed on the roof, inspected the whole roof for any damage, assessed my concern of ice damage, and had his crew here in 2 hours to fix my concern. Very fast, thorough, and friendly. Highly recommended.
