  2/16/25 We reached out to Golden State Roofing Pros because of a roof leak. When scheduling the appointment we let them know we had tenants and that this was a rental, the tenants would be there to deal with the appointment. We scheduled an appointment for Sunday February 15, between 10 and 12 pm. No one showed up, nor did we receive a call to reschedule or inform us that they may be late. We called and after an hour of back-and-forth were able to reschedule the appointment for Monday, February 16, between 9 and 11 AM. Again, no one showed up, nor did we receive a phone call stating they weren’t going to make it or they were running late. We again reached out to them and spent about two hours on the phone trying to work things out. We were told a manager was going to call us and we waited an hour. That phone call never came. We again called and at this point we were told they could not do the work unless we as the owners were present. This is something they should have told us when we made the initial appointment, we had made everything about the situation very clear to them. We made the decision to go with another company, At this point we felt very uncomfortable with the thought of using Golden State Roofing Pros. Communication was terrible, follow through was nonexistent, customer service was absolutely atrocious. Our tenants waited around all day Sunday for not, and took Monday off for the rescheduled appointment that never happened, missing a full day of work. All of that coupled with the fact that they advertise to be a local company in our city, when in fact when you call in the call is answered by a call center that dispatches roofers from around the state. There were too many red flags, I could not in good conscience leave this situation without a review, and would not recommend this company.

  I recently had a problem that I thought was a roof leak near my chimney in Poway. I called a local roofing and exterior service and spoke with Eddie, who quickly set up an appointment with Chris. Chris arrived with a ladder and a drone, did a careful roof inspection, and clearly explained that the source of the issue was related to the chimney area rather than the roofing system itself. He also shared attic video and drone footage, which made it much easier to understand what was going on and what steps should come next. I was very impressed with the professional customer service, strong roofing knowledge, and honest assessment. It is great to know I have a reliable roofer to call in Poway for any future roof, flashing, chimney, or exterior repair needs.

  I was getting a few estimates from different roofers for damage caused by a poorly installed super gutter. The fascia around the gutter had major damage, and that section of the roof needed a careful inspection along with fascia replacement. I also needed the roofing contractor to coordinate smoothly with the company handling the new super gutter installation. Jonathan really stood out.   Jonathan and an assistant from Golden State Roofing Pros did a very good job replacing the rotted section of a fascia board, wrapping it, realigning the gutter connected to it, adding extra flashing, and replacing several wind-damaged shingles. At first, one part of the shingle work was missed, but after I mentioned it was included in the signed agreement, Jonathan took care of it right away and finished everything to my full satisfaction. The repair looks solid, the gutter lines up well, and the added flashing gave me more confidence that the roof edge is better protected. In Poway, where sun and wind can be tough on roofing materials, it was great to have the work completed carefully and professionally. I also appreciated the thoughtful follow-up gift of delicious cookies. I have already recommended them to two neighbors who asked for a roofer recommendation.

  Very friendly and quick to handle everything our roof and exterior needed. They replaced fascia board, repaired and painted several trim areas, and installed shingles on the house, shop, and a small outbuilding.   My insurance agent pointed me to this roofing company because they had heard good things about their roof replacement work. I am very glad I took that advice. From the first inspection to the final cleanup, the whole roofing process was handled in a professional and helpful way. My project manager, Chris, was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He spent plenty of time going over roofing options, shingle colors, materials, ventilation, warranties, and the full scope of the job. Bringing sample materials to my home made it much easier to picture how the new roof would look and what choice would fit best. He answered all of my questions in simple terms, explained the roofing process and city permit and inspection steps clearly, and always took the time to return my calls and emails. He made sure I felt comfortable with every part of the project. I also appreciated the support during the approval process with my homeowners association.   i want to thank axel and his whole crew for making my roof replacement so easy and stress-free. as a single parent, i was pretty anxious about getting such a big project done and finding a roofer i could really trust. right from the start, axel made me feel comfortable and confident i was in the right hands. he took extra time to answer all my questions, even going over things several times so i really understood, especially when it came to the insurance details. i also spoke with his wife a couple of times, and she was just as helpful and patient. when the shingles were delivered, axel called and even stopped by to make sure everything looked good and to check if i had any other questions. he explained step by step what his team would be doing, from the first day to the final clean up, and introduced me to chris, who was the on-site go-to person if i needed anything while the work was happening. the entire crew was professional, friendly, and kept my yard clean every day. the whole process was smooth, and i'm very happy with my new roof. if you need a trustworthy roofer who really cares, i definitely recommend this company!
