  Came out yesterday and I asked him to look at my ADU roof and siding, he didn’t even lift a ladder or go up to look at it. I asked to have him walk and look at it with my male friend but he kept walking briskly away from the man while he talked to me on the phone and asked for almost $2000 for a quote. A complete waste of time and sketchy attitude.

  We want to clarify the facts of this situation for anyone reading. You were not upsold. You voluntarily agreed to add attic insulation during your roof project. Later, you decided to cancel that portion of the work. However, by the time you canceled, our team had already completed multiple phases of the contracted job, and had materials deliveried to your property. Which later had to get picked back up and you tried to keep! Per your signed contract, payment is owed for all work performed and materials delivered. Instead, you chose to pay only $2,000, which does not cover the labor and costs already incurred. This is a breach of contract. Because of the unpaid balance for work already completed, our company has been forced to begin the legal process to secure payment — which includes placing a mechanic’s lien on the property, as is standard in the construction industry. It’s unfortunate that after agreeing to the work, canceling mid-project, and not fulfilling contractual obligations, you decided to leave a negative review.   Essential Builders quoted me $22K for a roof replacement, then lowered it to $14K—making the project seem more affordable. I agreed to pay $9K upon demolition, which was built into the contract. After demolition, they claimed hidden damage required an extra $10K for a full roof replacement. Although they inspected beforehand, these issues weren’t disclosed until after work began. When I tried to cancel, they initially demanded $6K—later reduced to $5K—for demolition alone, far above market rates. The pricing felt like a bait-and-switch: an inflated original estimate, then a lowered figure to secure the contract, followed by surprise costs once I was locked in. Beware of the $9K demolition clause and ask detailed questions about hidden costs and cancellation terms before signing.

  Horrible business! 1. Their bill shows that they would cover the pool -> did not cover and did the work-> we called and they say oh did they not cover? -> and then they cover ONLY HALF THE POOL WITH TARP? 2. They ripped the roof and said we would have the inspection. -> next day some guys come and start working on the roof-> we called and they says oh no they are not supposed to cover it up now. 3. After number 2 they said they would rip if off for inspection and do the waterproof before inspection. We thought they hence did waterproof 4. Day of inspection-> no one told us what time would be the inspection. Workers DID NOT SHOW UP FOR INSPECTION. 5. Inspector went up the roof with the ladder WE provided because no one showed up for inspection. 6. INSPECTOR STATES THAT THEY DID NOT DO THE PROPER JOB for the inspection. This is current situation.

  Pestered me to death before they even got here. Called me 10 times in 20 min? 2 people were not necessary for a quick estimate. Were rude. Wouldn’t tell me an estimate. When i finally did receive an estimate by email it was ridiculously expensive. Everything about them was a big waste of time. I made it crystal clear what was wrong & what i needed yet they still wouldn’t stop until they wasted a lot of time before, during & after they showed up. Do not recommend

  Worked with David T. Provided excellent service and replaced all plywood and torch-down cool roof. The work is professionally done and David had been very helpful. Got the city permit in a timely fasion as well. Highly recommended for anyone that needs their home construction work to be done properly.

  Very good to work with. Straightforward and honest. Answered all questions and was fair on price and work quality was excellent.
