  This company was hired to remove my existing exterior siding, put Enerair exterior insulation and create a nearly airtight seal with it, cover the insulation with new siding, and replace all exterior metal flashing around edges (windows, doors, bottom of house, top of house). The work crew is adequate. The owner, Mike, is not. He is disorganized, unfair, inattentive, forgetful, arrogant, and does not properly supervise his crew. He does not take notes during site meetings, does not own up to his mistakes, and invoices his client for his mistakes. Details are below. He promised the work would start within 3 months and take a few weeks. The work started 6 months later and took 4 months. During the work, he only visited twice. He did not come to inspect the work once it was complete. He significantly rounded up his measurements during the initial estimate and did not revise them when the project was complete. He measured 1400 square ft of exterior walls were to be insulated, but only 1200 square ft were installed. No deductions in price were made for this error. He did not take contemporaneous notes during meetings at the worksite with me. This led to him forgetting changes made to the scope of work. When confronted, he stated that: "I have so many meetings, I can't be expected to remember all of them". This led to a mistake being made for which I had to pay twice: once for the incorrectly installed part, and then for its replacement. When confronted with his mistake, he ghosted us for several days, pulling his crew and equipment from the site without warning or word as to when, or even if, they would return. This led to the insulation not being covered within 30 days (which was the manufacturer's instruction). His crew only returned to work several days after he summoned me to a meeting during which he dictated what his crew will do and not do. I felt I had no way of challenging him on his inaccuracies because, if I had, based on him having ghosted us already, I

  Called to have estimate for siding and windows. The guy made every excuse in the book to not do the job. Will take our business somewhere else. Will never recommend.

  Worst contractor in Kingston. Absolute con artist. This guy belongs in jail. I had him fix my window and he charged me $2000. I realized later that this job could have been completed for $400. I had to get the window resealed a month later because he didn’t do it properly. Whatever you do AVOID him at all costs.

  Sent specs and drawings. Couldn't get a quote after more than 3 weeks. Hopefully future business is easier to handle.

  Provides a quote and Mike was very nice till he got the job. We agreed despite their quote being one of the highest but after starting the work We got a call from his office (Supposedly his wife)stating that the wood was rotten and needs replaced. Mike was not available to talk and did not pick our many calls. The workers changed a few sheets and charged us a full fee of $5000.00 which was the maximum under fine prints. Could not hold off since we were worried of rains and bad weather. Please please please do a favor to yourself. Ask him to estimate for all probables although he had climbed our roof twice and checked everything from inside. Never mentioned of rotten wood once.

  They stated they were very busy and could not give me an estimate for a couple weeks. I called them back after over 3 weeks. They informed me they made a mistake and missed it and it would take another 3 weeks to look at it.

  We love our new front door. The whole procedure from selecting it to final installation was stress-free; communication was excellent. Would recommend EKE without reservation.

  We recently had a sun tunnel installed by EKE. Our kitchen was so dark that we used to have to turn on the lights even on a sunny day. Not anymore! It's now so bright that we keep thinking we've left the light on. The work was done quickly with no mess left behind by the courteous technicians. I would happily use this company again.

  Gorgeous patio doors installed in 2024, no regrets, Mike was fantastic, they were perfect until the dog ran into the screen this winter! 100lbs and the screen didn’t rip.   I had reached out to Energy Kingston as they had previously worked on the ventilation systems for my bathrooms and some of the piping became disconnected. I called to set up a repair thinking that I would be paying for the job. Not only was the team prompt in addressing my concerns, they completed the repair in a timely manner and did not charge me for the service (which again I was not anticipating or expecting). I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Energy Kingston! Highly recommend!

  Mike spent a great deal of time with us, explaining construction methods in use at the time our house was built, what that might mean for what they might find when they started opening up the walls and investigating the existing insulation, and what our best options were, to ensure that we spent our money wisely for the greatest gains in energy efficiency. Chris and his team were very professional on-site - they did a really great job and left the site extremely clean and tidy and the end of each day. Our house is noticeably warmer inside and looks great on the outside. We're very happy with the results and highly recommend Energy Kingston Exteriors!

  Mike and his team did excellent work upgrading the bathroom venting at our home. The process was seamless, from organizing the estimate/proposal all the way to the work being completed painlessly. The work was even done during this extremely cold and snowy winter with safety and attention to detail at a reasonable financial cost. We are very happy with the work and would certainly recommend.

  We had Mike come to our Rental property to quote removeing the old siding and installing new. We told Mike what we wanted and Mike explained what he could do for us and explaned how we could do a few things to protect the siding and make it last. The work was done within the time frame and the quility of work was very good. During the demolion Mike explained where he found rot behind some of old siding. He gave us a few options on how to fix it and the addition cost. Like all renos there are always things that come up and we were expecting some and Mike walked us through each one. Some we had Mike fix and some we can do ourselves. The end result is we are very happy with the outcome and we would use Energy Kingston again. If you have ever had renovations done you know that most contractors live for the extras and a lot of times they over charge for the extras. I felt that the additional cost that we incured were not over priced. So Mike thanks for turning our old rental home into a new modern looking home, again thanks.
