  STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY. Darryn is very chatty and tries to be friendly to earn your trust until you sign the contract. During contract he is trying to screw you and insurance company by adding items to contract and telling you "don't worry insurance will pay this" after insurance refuses he says it is in contract and it is your problem. His crew are incompetent, the guy using nail gun goes all around the roof and nail the Edgers while nails all are half way driven without noticing (picture).They put starter shingle ON the gutter and create curve at edges so water will accumulate in front of gutters(picture).Darryn acts and talks like he is very experienced but he told me he is doing roofing for just about FOUR years. He never goes to look at the finished roof himself all he does forwards the pictures which he gets from crew to you and insurance company, and says it looks great. I had those pictures also till after a week I decided to look at roof myself. If you hire this guy either you have to know about roofing real good OR you need hire inspector to check the details , like my case will be after the fact. I bet none of those five star rating guys never gone on roof to see for themselves. All those pictures are sent by the crew to him and he is just forwarding to others. He likes to descount insurance deductable but he is not alone.

  Hello David, We completed your roof last 7/2023. I am sorry things have gone this way. I believe there were misunderstandings of the process. I will try and address your misunderstandings once again. Although, you had an insurance claim you asked us to do the work for less than insurance estimated. I explained we could but my final invoice would reflect what we charged and they might subtract the difference from your recoverable depreciation. You opted to not do the full scope of your insurance settlement. I also explained that your house was not built with drip edge and we would have to add it to bring it up to code. Your contract reflected the amount and specified you were responsible for that amount in addition to the contact price. In addition, your roof had double felt which we ended up supplementing along with the drip edge. According to your claims adjuster you were reimbursed for the full supplement. The insurance also withheld a portion of the recoverable deprecation. You made it clear you did not want to be out of pocket and refused to pay for the double felt tear-off and the drip edge. At this point, you started complaining. I made multiple trips with my project manager and foreman to address your concerns. It became clear you were going to do everything not to pay us. Since, your house was on the market I spoke with your listing agent to resolve the issue. We have never placed a lien before and tried to avoid having to do this. Unfortunately, we had no other choice. Your accusations' above are false. I have over 15 years experience in roofing my company was founded in 2018. We have nothing but 5-star reviews including two of your friends. On my last visit to your house I even took video of the roof to document along with the previous photos. We do not discount deductibles and we don't invoice for more than we charged.

  We Googled roofers "near me" & Duration Roofing & Construction came up. I called Darryn Shapek, the owner, and he came right out to inspect our roof. We had issues with our insurance company. He recommended a law firm to represent us against our insurance company. He & his entire crew were very helpful and professional throughout the entire process. We now have a beautiful new roof.   Had my whole roof replaced after a large hail storm. Darryn was extremely helpful with the process and working with the insurance company. He is very polite and friendly. The job itself only took 2 days and the result was amazing. Just a reminder for people that while replacing the roof, the work is messy, but his team did an outstanding job at cleaning up at the end of each day and especially when the job was finished. They also had to work around Tesla removing my solar panels. They were very accommodating given Teslas bad scheduling, ensuring the roof was replaced as soon as they removed the panels. We are very happy with the end product and would highly recommend.

  Darryn did a great job of evaluating the roof with the insurance company and had it replaced promptly over two days.That’s my roof and a four car separate garage roof. They and also paid extra attention to making sure no nails or debris were left behind since we have young children and grandbabies around. Thank you again.

  This is the second time we have used Duration for roof repairs - each time they were super communicative, flexible, fair, and efficient. When the time comes where insurance approves a new roof, we will be calling Duration. In the meantime, they are our go to for repairs!
