Cox makes empty promises to get your business. They make you feel like you're in good hands and you have nothing to worry about. The communication stops as soon as the contract is signed. They stop answering the phone and quit responding to your Emails. Cox will eat all of your insurance supplements regardless if the work is performed. I literally watched my bill increase from the original agreed price without explanation. Then they promised to be flexible on your deductible payments but, surprise, they charge 18% interest. If you choose not to accept high interest payments they give you two weeks to pay in full otherwise they will nicely threaten to put a lean on your home. Their workmanship is good but beware of their sheisty business practices.

We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear about your experience. It is concerning to hear that communication fell short and that there were discrepancies regarding the billing and payment terms. We strive to maintain transparency throughout our services and will take your insights into consideration to improve our practices. While we are glad to hear you were satisfied with the workmanship, we will work to address the concerns raised regarding customer service and financial policies. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Its been over a year since I hired Cox Roofing to replace the siding on my house. They started off well with friendly customer service. There was an issue that required a change order involving the replacement of all the trim on my house with new cedar trim. They assured me that the production team had solved the issue and they would be able to complete the work. Once they started work, they realized that the proposed change order was no longer going to be a viable solution so they removed all the material listed in the initial change order as it was not going to work. Then they created another change order that accurately addressed the issue with different material. In the end, they tried to charge me for both change orders even though the first one was never completed and all the material listed in it was removed from the job site. When I tried to address the issue, they told me there was nothing they could because they still completed the work. They threated to get lawyers involved even though the change order clearly listed materials and services that were never rendered. Out of exhaustion, I payed the amount. Fast forward to the next summer, i started having AC problems, so I called out an ac company and they found a leak in my line set. The siding was not nailed onto a framing member and pierced my line set. I asked if they would pay for the repair and the leak test and they told me that the line set should have protected to prevent situations like this from happening. Since I am in construction myself, i know that it only needs to be protected when passing through a framing member, and not when in the middle of a stud cavity. They said they would get someone out there to patch the line set instead of paying for it to be replaced. The day of the patch, they ripped apart my siding to pierce and patch the copper. In the process, they stood all over my unit and covered it with trash and kinked the line set in multiple spots. When it was pointed out, they told

We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it must have been to deal with an issue like this. As we discussed, the problem stemmed from the original A/C installation not being up to code, something we did not perform, but we were committed to making it right. Our team worked diligently to resolve the issue, and we’re glad to hear that your A/C is now functioning properly. While we wish the outcome of your review reflected the resolution, we still appreciate the opportunity to correct the situation and earn back your trust. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything more we can do.

Edited with update as of January 2025: We just discovered that our north attic wall is so saturated with water that it's causing many spots on our upstairs ceilings. We asked Cox to come out since the roof is barely 3 years old, and they told me it was caused by our Heat n Glow fireplace venting into the attic, even though I told them it vents to the side (and we've used it every winter for 11 years). I got a second opinion, and the moisture is likely caused by cheap ridge vents or potentially a leak where the siding and roof meet along our chimney. A remediation team said there's existing mold in the attic, so this likely wasn't the first time it's gotten too wet. We've had a really miserable winter, so it's probably a combination of different things. I'm changing my review score because I contacted Cox to come out to give another opinion (they didn't even go on the roof when they said it was the fireplace), and they didn't call me back the day I called or the following week when I called again. When our attic walls are literally dripping water, I don't want to wait days and days for a response. While our initial roofing experience in 2021 was fine, we had issues with the siding project that followed. They damaged multiple brand new screens and did a sloppy job caulking around our windows. They made those things right, but based on that and this new roofing problem, I wouldn't use their services again. Larissa Boles has been so great to work with since our hail damage occurred. She did a free inspection, attended the appt with my insurance adjuster, and has followed up quickly every time I've had questions or needed to make changes to the scope of work. I've used Cox Residential for gutter work in the past, and I was really happy with their service. I'm confident that the siding, gutter, and roof work Cox will be performing this year will also go smoothly, and I highly recommend Larissa.

Cox installed our new roof and gutters about 4 years ago. When they installed the shingles, they disconnected our furnace exhaust from the roof and it was sending carbon dioxide into our attic for about 6 months. After some discussion, they came to reconnect it. After a recent strong storm, I discovered a section of gutter on the back of the house that was not properly connected to the lower section of the gutters and rain was pouring over the lower gutter section. I was told we were "out of warranty", although this was simply installed improperly. They want hundreds of dollars for what should be a simple fix for them to make it right. Unfortunate for them to have lost a future customer for this, but I will not use them again because how a company treats you after the sale is too important. Shout out to their sales person Chad for being a customer advocate on our behalf.

Thank you for your review Mr. Horan. I have checked your account and based on the contract and scope of work, everything seemed to be taken care of to your satisfaction. The issue you have mentioned on the back of your house is not that it was not properly installed, it is that after 4 years you have decided you want to change the structure of the gutter system (change the way it was originally installed). We have let you know this is not under warranty and unfortunately it would cost you extra. Although this may seem as an easy fix we hope you understand we cannot do things for free. I’m very sorry this time we were not able to accommodate your request. We are happy to review this further wit you, please give us a call and see how we can help you with the repair you are needing. 317.600.8838

From start to finish, Cox Roofing exceeded my expectations with their communication, professionalism, and willingness to answer every question along the way. Justin, Paul, Javier, and their incredible crews installed a new roof, new siding, and new gutters after my home sustained storm damage. They made the entire process much less stressful by helping with the insurance claim, offering guidance as I chose shingle and siding colors, and completing the work with great attention to detail. Throughout the project, a few unexpected repairs came up, but Javier and Paul were quick to communicate what they found, explain the options, and provide solutions. They also shared plenty of before-and-after photos, which I really appreciated. One thing that really stood out was the care they took in cleaning up after the job. The roofing and siding crews walked around the house multiple times to make sure they picked up nails and debris. It's clear they take pride in their work, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cox Roofing to anyone looking for a company that's honest, hardworking, and committed to doing the job right.
