We sincerely apologize for the rain related staining issue and the need for a second application. Once the rain spotting became apparent, we scheduled the re-staining at the earliest opportunity that weather conditions would allow to help ensure a proper result. We also offered to provide paint and complete any touch-up work that remained. We are still happy to provide touch ups if you if agree. Regarding billing, we understand your concerns and agree that the timing of invoicing can have a significant impact on the customer experience. Gaps, rework, or “good enough” decisions are not acceptable, and we understand how frustrating it is to feel like you paid full price for anything less than professional execution. • Detail work and corner boards: Your comments regarding corner board installation, gaps, and finishing are fair. Visible gaps, especially ones you had to correct yourself, should have been addressed proactively by our team before final completion. • Post-project communication: This is the most concerning feedback for us.   Update: engineer’s review showed that several roofs required repair. Carolina Exteriors refused to do the work. Baker Roofing completed the repairs. DON’T USE CAROLINA EXTERIORS. Dishonest and once the job is completed, you’ll never be able to reach them again. Update: I’ve called this company several times. I missed one of their calls right after this post, but despite leaving messages, they haven’t called back. I live in a community that used them for roofs; they installed more than 40 roofs. So, they know exactly who is complaining and again have chosen not to contact our management company. They are in possession of my Better Business Bureau review and have my contact info from that interaction as well. #lipservice DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We used Carolina Exteriors to replace our roof. That was a big mistake. The project progressed and it was completed on time. Once the project was completed, however, our fears came to pass. Carolina Exteriors absolved themselves of responsibility for leaks. Their knee jerk reaction was to disassociate themselves from their mistakes. They will show you awards from various manufacturers, but don't let that sway you. The least we would've expected was for them to correct their mistakes, but they didn't. Go with a company that will take pride in their work and will live up to their mistakes. Mistakes happen in every project; that's not the issue. Lying and deflecting was their post construction strategy, and that is the issue. Responding to the owner's email - my home was part of a larger project. You had your chance to make things right. We're getting an engineer to objectively assess the issues.

  We contracted with Carolina Exteriors for a James Hardie Full Colorplus reside and gutter replacement project. What was sold to us in December of 2020 was not what was delivered by the end of the project in June of 2021. After a total investment of $30,185, we were to receive a total siding replacement (all siding, corner boards, fascia, soffit, frieze, shingle molding) and gutter replacement on the whole house along with downspouts. You may be thinking, "That is an absurd amount to pay for a siding and gutter project," and yes, you are correct. There are multiple other companies who will do the project at a cheaper price for likely better customer service. We have since discussed this with neighbors and friends and now realized we paid an outlandish price. As they say, hindsight is 20-20. We experienced three main issues while working with Carolina Exteriors, LLC . 1 - Poor Communication: After initially closing the deal with a sales member (who could sell potatoes to the Irish), we began the downward trend of a lack of proper communication. The initial issue what when the project would start. After not hearing back when we were originally promised, we reached out for an estimated start date. Then came the crickets. One week before the scheduled project start date we reached out again and had to CC multiple people in the company. We were finally successful at establishing a start date of 4/13. Throughout the project, there was a myriad of miscommunication that fell on the shoulders of us as customers. Quite frankly, we felt like we could have contracted with each of their sub-contractors and gotten the job done at a cheaper and more efficient rate. 2 - Speed of the Project: The project was to be completed within 20 working days. However, it was stated in the contract that working days may not be consecutive due to scheduling of various trades. That detail was a kicker. Living in a construction site from 4/13 to 6/23 was tumultuous to say the least. If one choos

  Mr. Tilley, thanks for expressing your concerns. It seems as though, from your review, we failed to deliver on our promise of exceptional customer experiences. We understand the need for timely and frequent communication and unfortunately, didn't meet your expectations. There's no excuse for the lack of communication from our Production Team after your contract was signed. We will discuss the communication breakdown with our team to avoid situations like this in the future. As it relates to the speed of the project, upon reviewing our CRM / Client Portal, the siding / trim replacement portion of your home makeover took 7 working days (4/14-4/22), followed by painting that commenced on 4/26, completed a day later (with minor touch ups to be done). It was also discovered there were some issues related to the existing roof installation, outside of our control, which caused some delays, followed by our electrician rescheduling which led to a 3 week gap. We worked efficiently, but ultimately did encounter some delays, some related to our trades and we apologize for the inconvenience. Finally, regarding the soffit and gutter replacement mentioned in your review, we acknowledge these were not replaced, however, given the construction (materials, means of attachment to the house) of the sunroom, it was not possible to replace these items. We understand you changed the color of your gutters from white to black and the integrated gutters in the metal sunroom could not be changed. I welcome you to call me to discuss what we can do to rectify this situation for you. My goal is for you to feel comfortable knowing we are willing to try to resolve any open issues. Thanks so much!   I just had the absolute worse customer service experience with Carolina Exteriors Plus. In addition to poor communication, unmet deliverables and a host of other issues, the owner Clifton Muckenfuss even had the audacity to tell me he was helping me out by providing the service that his business is based on. Sir, you were going to get paid $30K for the work. Doing it for less or better yet, free. This was symbiotic. The arrogance that came across made me wonder how inclusive the company leadership is and its customer base.   New Siding, Soffit, fascia & Gutters. Carolina Exteriors was a pleasure to work with and we are very pleased with the results of their work. We had the full exterior replaced after repairing the old fiber siding for 30 years. Carolina Ext installed Hardie & PVC, 6" gutters. One of the biggest value adds was working with their on-site general manager Mark Pegram who stayed on top of the work crews 24/7 insuring everything was done right and that your interests & directions were properly conveyed to the work crews to insure all your updates were implemented in a timely fashion. This took all the stress out of the project and Mark would always go above and beyond to make you happy. He was GREAT!.   We needed to replace all of our windows and couldn't be happier that we chose to work with Carolina Exteriors. We gathered lots of quotes and CE not only had a competitive price, but they went above and beyond to make sure the customer experience was smooth. Our installers were quick, efficient, and professional- we couldn't be more pleased with their work. In addition, we used them to repair some wood rot and other areas that needed attention around the exterior of our home. Again, these repairs were made quickly and efficiently. I would absolutely recommend Carolina Exterior for any of your needs- you will not be disappointed with the quality of their work!

  I was initially concerned that hiring a reputable general construction company would be more expensive, but the less reputable company’s quote came in at the same price. I often feel like being a woman makes me a target for shams, but Carolina Exteriors proved to be trustworthy and transparent. When an unexpected issue arose (rotten fascia), CE didn’t exploit the situation—they quoted me a fair price and handled it professionally.
