Tried to overcharge me over $300 dolllar and more for something that we managed to fix for $30 same material straight scam which was also his job to fix but refused

So this review is from someone at Mr.Puffer shop and by the way this is their second 1 Star review for the same repair (which is against google policy) They stated above that they managed to fix the leak for $ 30 dollars and they are trying to convince the public that we tried to scam them when the reality of the situation was that after our inspection, we found multiple roof leaks. We advised them of a solution to remedy all of the ROOF leaks. The owner agreed on a price of $ 1450.00 for materials and labor that is mentioned in "aka" slims 1 star review. Work was performed by a qualified repair tech as promised in the contract. Weathertight Exteriors was called back to Mr.Puffer smoke shop about a location in the building that was still leaking. we went back out and discovered the ductwork is leaking. We advised the renter of the building that they needed to contact a mechanical contractor to repair this leak. I'm sure as a business owner it's frustrating to find out that not only was your roof leaking from lack of maintenance, but also your ductwork was leaking because it has been coated multiple times over oxidized areas leading up to more problems. Please accept the fact that your $ 30 fix is only " temporarily" and you should start getting quotes to replace the old A/C duct spoken of here so you can remedy the problem long term. Weathertight Exteriors LLC is NOT a mechanical contractor. Best of luck with the $30 dollar repair.

As a business owner, I contacted this company to fix an active leak at my commercial property and personally showed the exact location before any work began. I relied on their professional expertise to properly diagnose the source of the problem. I was told it was a roofing issue and was charged $1,450 for repairs. The original leak is still occurring in the exact same spot. After I raised the concern, I was told that “the ductwork itself is leaking” and that they are not a mechanical contractor, so they would have no reason to check the ductwork. That response is exactly the issue. If the true source of the leak was potentially ductwork and outside their scope, that should have been identified and communicated during the initial inspection — before charging $1,450 for repairs that did not resolve the primary problem. As the property owner, I depended on their professional assessment to determine whether the leak was actually roofing-related. Instead, I was billed for roof work while the main leak remained unresolved. The invoice includes a 1-year workmanship warranty, yet when the issue persisted, responsibility was redirected elsewhere rather than acknowledging that the original diagnosis may have been incomplete. Based on how this situation was handled, I will not consider this company again for future projects. The lack of full evaluation before billing has left me extremely disappointed and forced me to seek additional contractors at further expense. Business owners deserve clear communication, accurate diagnosis, and accountability — especially when significant money is involved. Also if roof is not the problem from the start then why didn’t you mention it???? Instead of lying to make look good. You did not inspect the issue but decided to upcharge for material worth $50-200$. And after all that you still managed not to fix the issue and lied about the main issue. There’s plenty of evidence of you contradicting yourself and lying on the spot Horrible

We are sorry you feel this way. However, we were contracted to repair roof leaks. We showed you the photos of the current roof leaks around the heating/AC units. We quoted you a price to repair these areas and you accepted/approved our quote. We would not have checked the ductwork as we are not a mechanical contractor and this would not fall under our scope as it is not actually a roofing problem. Please let us know if you have any additional problems with the repairs that we made on the roof and we will absolutely honor our 1 year workmanship warranty.

Wayne arrived shortly after I contacted him about my issue due to winter ice dam on rear of my house. He inspected and gave me different types of repair options to to remedy my issues at hand and to prevent future problems. Being familiar with the product that he was going to use to repair my damage I felt very comfortable with his estimate and agreed to have the job done. Within a few days he arrived on time and wasted no time completing the job. I couldn’t ask for a better clean up afterwards. Excellent job and would highly recommend this company to anyone that is inquiring and would not hesitate in contacting again. Thank you for your service!!

Wayne from Weathertight Exteriors LLC came out in a timely manner to evaluate the situation and make repairs. He also was there at the time he promised. Lastly he advised that I may have a warranty issue with the shingle manufacturer and guided me through the process to file a claim with them.

Thank you for the review A lot of builders and roofing contractors use standard pipe collars that often fail somewhere in the range of 9 to 17 years When we do a roof replacement here at Weathertight Exteriors we use lifetime pipe collars on all installations when installing lifetime Shingles, it cost a little more, but it saves the homeowner a lot in the long run. Thank you for your business.

Thank you for your Business, always proud to serve homeowners and business owners in the Richmond Central Virginia area.

During a recent roof inspection, we met with a homeowner who couldn’t understand why her roof had deteriorated much faster than expected. She had no idea there was a hidden problem quietly shortening the life of her roof. The shingles weren’t the real issue. Her roof simply couldn’t breathe. Without proper intake and exhaust ventilation, heat and moisture can become trapped in your attic. Over time, this can reduce the lifespan of your roof, increase energy costs, and even contribute to moisture-related issues inside your home. At Weathertight Exteriors LLC, we believe a quality roof replacement is about more than just installing new shingles. Every roofing component should work together to help protect your home for years to come. We're proud to provide residential roofing, roof replacement, and roof repair services throughout Ruther Glen, Caroline County, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania County, and the surrounding communities. If you're planning a roof replacement or have questions about your attic ventilation, we're always happy to provide honest advice and a free roof inspection.Jul 21, 2026
