  I gave Claude every opportunity to make this right because he came across as a nice guy. That turned out to be a mistake. The quality of the work was poor, and several jobs were left unfinished, including chimney work and stair repairs. He repeatedly told me he would be back to finish, but never did. I have text messages and recordings confirming he said he was coming, yet he never showed up. The extra charges and constant add-ons aren’t even my biggest issue. My biggest issue is that he doesn’t finish the work he starts and then stops answering calls and following through. I would not recommend hiring him. Reliability and standing behind your work matter, and unfortunately that wasn’t my experience. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.

  I set up an appointment in 2024 to have them come out. Took the day off and they pulled a no show no call. They read my negative review stating such and reached out to make it right. They came out cleaned the chimney and as incentive to change my negative review and make up for the no show Claude told me I had 3 free cleanings. Fast forward to June 2026 I set up an appointment took the day off from work and here we go again no show no call. I call to find out what happened and get excuses and was told they would come out on Saturday. Saturday came and went with no show no call. I wasted a half days pay from not going to work and still have to find someone to clean my chimney. These guys are completely unreliable and not worth the aggravation. 2 set appointments 3 no show now call. Stay away unless you don't need to work to make money and don't mind sitting home for the day. I'd give zero stars if I could....

  AVOID AT ALL COSTS Claude will promise you the moon and back but once they start work it's downhill from there. They will not be clear about when they are coming, make you call the day of to know even what time of day (morning/afternoon) …

  The quality of the work is good, but they will show up late or reschedule for days later. They will say the job will be done tomorrow, but don't even show up until 4 days later. If you call upset about why they leave you hanging for days without any communication, you will hear every excuse in the book. Quote was for one price, but got charged to at least double. Again, the quality of the work looks good, but if I had to do it again, it's not worth the headache. For the price I was charged in the end it was higher than the other companies who I originally thought were "overpriced" before. Edit to reply to owner: In reply to First, On the initial inspection they missed some old rotten supports on the roof that they did an inspection on originally (keep in mind the house is gutted and they can see everything). In reply to Secondly, after realizing they needed to replace some supports they got a quote from a company they work with to repair some of the frame, this almost doubled the price of the original quote. In reply to lastly, yes there was a conversation on the original price and after they "discovered" the problem with supports. However, whether you call the price change a "change order" or a "separate job" the reality is it cost more in the end than what I had been told the job would cost. For anyone reading this review, only reason they cannot find me is because my username is not my real name, it's a nickname. I would rather keep it this way in case they try to reach out to me to try to get the review removed.

  We have flagged a few issues with your review. First of all, we do an inspection and determine what needs to be repaired or replaced/build. Secondly, we will quote the cost and service we have to perform. Lastly, we will have a conversation with our client explain in detail what is the problem and suggest our solutions. All of this follows with an agreement between us and the client on the work that has to be done and the price of that work. So this means, there are NO after pricing and charges on the same job.   I had a great experience working with Top Notch. They did our roof and did an amazing job . They kept us updated every step of the way, and the work crew cleaned up the site at the end of every single day.   I highly recommend Top Notch 1. They did my dad’s roof and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. The quality of the work was top-notch, but what really stood out was the communication throughout the entire job. Always responsive, reliable, and kept us informed every step of the way.   I recently had my entire roof rebuilt from the ground up by Top Notch 1, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, they did an outstanding job. The workmanship was excellent, the team was professional and reliable, and they paid great attention to every detail. My house looks completely different now, and the quality of the new roof is amazing. They worked efficiently, kept everything clean, and made sure the job was done properly.   I had Top Notch 1 repair the bricks on top of chimney at my moms house , and I’m really happy with how it came out. They showed up on time, Mike explained what needed to be done, and did a really clean job. The chimney looks great, and everything was handled professionally from start to finish. Definitely recommend them for any chimney work

  Update – July 2026 This is the second time I have used Top Notch 1 , and once again I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Their professionalism, craftsmanship, punctuality, and attention to cleanliness continue to exceed my expectations. As I mentioned in my previous review a few years ago, they repaired and repointed the brickwork at the top of my chimney, replacing deteriorated bricks caused by the age of my home. The quality of that work was outstanding. Recently, it was time to replace my home's hot water heater. Due to local code requirements, I also needed to have a chimney liner installed. I contacted Top Notch 1 and spoke with Claude, who came out the very next morning to inspect the chimney. He thoroughly explained the installation process, discussed the project logistics, and answered all of my questions. On the day of the installation, Claude and his team arrived exactly on time and immediately took care to protect the work areas before getting started. They installed the new chimney liner and added insulation to improve the chimney's efficiency while enhancing its long-term strength and durability. Their workmanship, attention to detail, and respect and care for my home were exceptional from start to finish. As every homeowner knows, projects like these are essential to maintaining a safe and efficient home. I am incredibly grateful to Claude and the entire Top Notch 1 Construction team for making what could have been a stressful project such a smooth and positive experience. I am also condidering another project this Fall and will reach out to Claude and Top Notch One for their opinion and potential project opportunity . I highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, skilled professionals who truly take pride in their work. Professional Craftsman is what comes to mind.   Had Top Notch 1 Chimney repair my chimney crown and reline my fireplace with a stainless steel liner. The work came out great and I’m glad I went with them. What I liked most was their transparency—they walked me through the whole process step by step. Everything looks neat and well done. I’d highly recommend them.
