  As we head into summer storm season, I want to share our experience with Titan Commercial Roofing so other homeowners in the area are aware of their rights before signing anything during storm restoration and insurance claim situations. My family was sued by Titan during our storm damage claim process, despite Titan never replacing our roof, never ordering materials, and never providing us with a quote for roof replacement before asking us to sign their contingency agreement. After nearly a year of litigation, the court ultimately found Titan’s contingency agreement unfair and against public policy. One of the biggest things we learned through this process is that homeowners are NOT legally required to provide their insurance scope of coverage to a roofing company, despite what many people may be told. Homeowners also have the right to compare contractors and choose who they want working on their home. A few important things homeowners should know: • You do NOT have to sign anything to receive an estimate. • You are NOT legally required to provide your insurance scope of coverage to a contractor. • You have the right to compare companies before making a decision. This process has been exhausting, stressful, and expensive for our family, and I do not want other homeowners, especially elderly residents or people unfamiliar with insurance claims, to experience the same situation. Thank you to everyone who supported and prayed for our family throughout this process. This ruling will help set the tone for additional cases coming in July and help establish precedent regarding similar contingency agreement disputes and homeowner protections.   Best roof ever I couldn’t believe they couldn’t believe they weren’t lying when they said my insurance would pay for the whole thing so glad I took that 15 min out of my day for a free inspection !!!!
