  Very poor customer service, communication and follow through. This happened many times. I would talk to someone, they would assure that I would receive a call by a certain time, but no follow up contact made.

  I thought I'd give the smaller company a go and their price was competitive. Of course this company was cheaper than other companies but there is a reason for this, be prepared to act as contractor to ensure that everything is completed properly. We had to call them back several times to ensure that things we noticed were repaired, no one did a final inspection to ensure it was to code and completed to our satisfaction. Our skylight was left completely unsealed, parts of our attic left exposed and not resolved until I bothered them to come and fix it. Damaged our facia and we had to pay to have it replaced. I am hesitant to give them one star here. Communication was great with the person providing a quote but after that, communication is terrible. Yes, they are cheaper but beware.

  Hello Michelle, the fascia boards had areas of rot, that is why we replaced approximately 18' of them. The attic openings were at areas where the roofing runs up under the soffits and in some cases the soffit does not fully extend down to the roofing especially in cases where cedar roofing is replaced with asphalt as with yours. This is a task usually performed by our metal guy and he was a little backed at the time and for that we do apologize. Our goal is not necessarily to be the cheapest but to provide a premium installation at a fair price. Your roof turned out great and by the sounds of things we saved you a little money. I do not think that warrants quite the harsh review but if you would like to call to discuss please do. We do thank you for your business.

  They showed up without any notice. We were not available as they needed us to be home for this appointment. We told them no one said anything about them coming or we would absolutely have been ready for them with at least someone being home. They left, never called again, and didn’t even come back. How on earth can a reasonably well-known company be run like this? We will not be calling them ever again. There are many other roofing companies to choose from. You were warned.

  * Edited So today the roofers were just chucking large pieces of garbage and plywood off our roof and onto our walkway,parking spot and driveway. I have a baby. So I yelled at them until one finally took his headphones out and acknowledged me. I said "you DO realize people live here right???" He apologized and I left. Very unprofessional and DANGEROUS. The work seems good, we had a tree come through the house we are renting, in December. Our landlord has hired onsite and this company to repair the roof. The work seems good, and these guys get a lot of work done in the day. I just have one small complaint. No one ever tells us when the roofers are coming. I have a 14 month old, if I knew they were coming I could prepare. She's woken up screaming because suddenly she's woken up by loud banging on the roof. Or the first time when they came, my daughter and I were asleep. As a stay at home mom, it can be really alarming to just wake up to people on your roof at 7:30am.

  Hi Katie, We are sorry to hear things got off on the wrong foot. This was a restoration job as you mentioned, and they were aware we were starting, Unfortunately we were not aware on our end that the house was being occupied at the time. We do apologize for the poor communication.

  Extremely pleased we went with Surlang Roofing for our residential roof. Superior team who are very experienced and skilled. Stood by their quote which was lower than others for designer shingles. Outstanding work from setup, to former shingle removal, to installation. 5 star recommendation from Steve and Lynn in North Vancouver.

  Surlang Roofing does an incredible job! Our experience had to be mentioned so as to assist others in making the right decision when looking for a qualified company who offers competitive pricing and is not a fly- bye night group. Experience and dependability matter when your putting out such expense for your home. They started by assessing our roof needs due to shingles coming off, then offered a letter and quote to insurance company due to an organic shingles issue and had a crew readily available for our emergency situation. In 2 days, our very steep and high peaked roof was replaced. The crew was professional, pleasant and cleaned up each night. You would not have known work was being done as there was never a mess. If it had not been for this company we would have had an insurance claim for water damage as it rained hard the the first day after completion. They have done work for family members and acquaintances in the past without issue’s, so I strongly recommend their service. Give them a call!

  I was fortunate to have Mr. Scott inspected my roof. He quickly identified the location of the leak. He is highly experienced.

  I highly recommend Surlang Roofing. I had my roof replaced at a competitive price with no issues in a timely fashion. The work crew was professional and the clean up and removal of my old roof was excellent with nothing left behind. Definetly and five star operation!

  We had our roof done many years ago by Surlang Roofing and a repair to our soffit a week ago. Both times we found them pleasant to deal with, and the product is great. Definitely would call them again for any roofing needs, and would recommend them to our friends.

  We were pleased to receive a quote quickly upon request when other companies were either too busy or didn't want our project. The quote was fair considering the scope of work involved and we were kept informed as to the timeline. We were thrilled that they were able to fit our job in during the extremely hot weather and on short notice. The crew was courteous and friendly. They took exceptional care to cover my landscaping and veggie garden from damage and tidyed up the job site at the end of each workday. I'm very happy with the quality of workmanship and the attention to detail. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and already have! Thank you!

  I can't say enough about Surlang Roofing. I was left waiting for another company to fulfill their quote but it was delay after delay after excuse. Surlang came the same week I called to do an estimate and in less than 3 weeks they not only started but completed the job and it wasn't small. I even had one of my skylights removed. They were completely professional and updated me along the way. Once finished, they cleaned up after themselves as well. I cannot recommend them enough! I am very happy! Thank you Surlang Roofing!!
