  Was very disappointed with their lack of response. Initially they sent a guy out to look at the roof. He said there was two layers needing to be removed and priced it at $8500. I then found out that there is only one layer and asked for a requote. They then told me $7000. I agreed to have them do the job but they did not send me the requote. Spoke and texted them several times and they said they would send but never did. Asked for a date which it was to be done and they said they would get back to me. This has been going on for two weeks. I finally sent them a message that I was going to use another company. I guess they don't want the business.

  I had an absolutely terrible experience with Stokes Roofing. Half of the crew showed up looking like they didn’t even want to be there — some seemed high or completely out of it, and the rest clearly didn’t know what they were doing. The work was sloppy from start to finish, with no attention to detail or pride in their job. Communication was awful, deadlines were ignored, and I was left with a mess to clean up afterward. If you care about quality or professionalism, avoid Stokes Roofing at all costs. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

  Rick, I am very sorry IKO took 10 months to cover the manufacturer defect. This was not something we could control and there were no errors in our installation. We had even manufactures inspect everything in order for your warranty to be validated. I understand your frustration that we refused to install the shingles after IKO finally approved your warranty. However after we answered numerous phone calls from you as well as the IKO representative spoke to you several times explaining the procedure and that a decision had not been made. We notified you every time communication was made with IKO and you threatened our staff we were not comfortable installing your roof for you. We also made it very clear that there were multiple defects with IKOs shingles we were no longer willing to install the product as we were not satisfied that the product was not going to fail and we were not satisfied with the warranty procedure. We let you know you should have a certified IKO installer this way they should be installing to manufacture specifications. We apologize IKO took so long to rectify the warranty. But we did argue on your behalf and overseen everything until they provided you with the refund. Jesse and Jennifer Stokes

  Well.. After seeing all the great Reviews for Stokes, I got a quote from them to replace a skylight and repair some minor issues on a steel roof. I was happy with “Al” over the phone, he gave me a price. I hired him without even getting a second quote. This was in March. I’ve been calling him to get an eta on the work, he couldn’t give me a ball park time, so I decided to be patient. I resorted to calling the office again (July) as I just wanted to when the work ( at least the month) when I could expect it to start. After three calls with Jennifer at the office, she told me there were 6 jobs in front of my job. I canceled the job, told her I can’t wait any longer for not have a ball park time. So, I have waisted 5 months for nothing, and I now, need to find someone else to do the job before I close the the cottage in the fall. All I wanted was honesty. If you can’t Handel the work, then just tell me and I’ll look elsewhere Justin.

  Called twice over the course of a few weeks to book an estimate. Was told both times "the boys may be in the area and will contact you". Weeks go by and nothing, so we search out and secure a roofing contract from another contractor. Today, sitting in my mailbox is a completed estimate for our roof. I never booked this, never talked to anyone about different options. They gave me a single quote instead of one with several options. If I'm going to spend the kind of money I need to spend on a roof, I would like it to be with a contractor who is mature enough to communicate with there customers. Hard pass on this unprofessional behavior. Company Response ================== Ryan, We are very sorry you feel you’ve had a bad experience, in March and April months we do experience a high volume of estimate calls and we do try our very best to get out to service all the areas to get quotes to everyone in a reasonable amount of time. You did call the office on March 27 2023 which has been 11 days. We again are very sorry and are glad you secured your roof replacement even if not with our company. You were provided an estimate folder with the 2 options of Roofing products we install and accessories with those products. We have communicated with you on both telephone calls informing you that we trying our best to attend your area which is not were we are based out of. It being Good Friday and still having staff attend for estimates we did not feel the need to bother you and figured if you had any questions you would call. I informed you of this once you called and I have let each and every person that has a roof leaking know to call another company if it is urgent. Due to the fact that you are outside of the Peterborough area it has been difficult for us to attend your area.   Hi, I apologize yesterday my receptionist was not in during the afternoon. I apologize for the confusion, I believe when you made an appointment reception was given your address as Douro Dummer area. We were having great difficulties understanding the directions given to us as your address was not on the GPS. I believe I was able to locate your closest intersection and you are quite a distance away. About a 3 hour round trip, we were trying to make arrangements for someone to come have a look at it for you however we had nobody available until today. I believe you were not contacted because arrangements needed to be made for someone to be available for 3 hours to assess your roof. It appears that you are out of the area we normally would attend. However I was doing my best to accommodate a free assessment for you. I apologize I had not made arrangements as quickly as you were hoping. I understand having a leak can be stressful. It appears by the other reviews you have put out to other businesses most of Peterborough businesses do not service your area. However it appears you were assisted by someone else.   Stokes Roofing completed our roof replacement in 2 days and did a great job! Their crew was polite and took care of our property ensuring nothing around the house was damaged when the removing the existing shingles. They found some areas needing some repair once the shingles were off and addressed those at no additional cost. They cleaned up our property so well no one would know the roof was just replaced! Not a spec of debris or roofing nails to be found. We would highly recommend Stokes Roofing to anyone needing their roof replaced. Now we just need a warm sunny day to flatten the slight waves in the new shingles! One of their guys even made a special trip out today to drop off our warranty paperwork!

  We have used Stokes a few times throughout the years with different homes and have always been impressed with the service. This time around, we called during an ice storm and they came out and helped us with a leak. We appreciate their care and professionalism and will continue to call them any time we need work done.

  Amazing staff and great work. Can't say enough good about them! A great experience working with them. I had damage to my roof from the ice storm. Some companies didn't even call back. These people provided me an estimate within one day of my first contact with them. Great job!

  We recently moved to the area and had to replace our roof after an ice storm. Even with demand being high after the storm, Stokes was able to prioritize the work we needed done and quickly deliver. The crew was friendly and did an amazing job with the roof (looks much better than the old one). Repairs to the damaged eaves trough and soffit are perfect too. They were great to work with and I recommend using Stokes to anyone in the area.
