Chris Williams at SLO County Roofing immediately identified the cause of a long-standing leak and after several rainstorms with no more leaks after he and his crew replaced in August 2025 the proof couldn't be more definite- and a huge relief! We did a whole house remodel in 2000; went from 1100 sq. ft. to over 3,000. Contractor was great and when we had a leak almost immediately he thought it was a window we put in on that wall as we had an extra and it lit up our stairwell. It wasn't the window. We've had several droughts since then and our contractor retired and moved away. The leak was never huge, yet it was always there. The weird thing is that the roof is fairly steep and it leaked at the top where it joined the wall. We had four different attempts to fix this over the years, spending over $3,000 and nothing fixed it. Last year I had the well respected roofing company ins SLO that did the last three attempts come out to estimate a new roof. Foreman came out and didn't even get his ladder off the truck saying "I forgot you have some steep pitches and my guys are too old'. Suggested I call Chris & also told me about Malarkey shingles which we used. Chris said the roof leak was due to the original contractor not using Z bar for flashing. It has it now and we don't have to cover our sofa anymore with an old shower curtain. Chris & his sister Sheri were a gem to work with; and are SLO county natives. Thank you both for putting this behind us!!
