Had an appointment scheduled for storm damage with Justin, an hour before the appointment they called and wanted to do an estimate by email and phone, without even inspecting the damage. How can you do an estimate without actually inspecting the damage; especially the interior? If this was your policy, why even make the appointment and drag this out the extra days? I understand I'm not local, but I am in your marketing area. I'll never use your company nor will I ever recommend you in the future.

Things were okay—until we actually needed them to stand behind their work. We do not recommend doing business with Roofing for Troops. There are many …

Thank you for your review. We’re glad Jake was able to step in, improve the experience, and complete the project as agreed. That said, your review leaves out important context. After the work was completed, there were repeated delays in payment, multiple attempts to renegotiate the agreed price, and continued billing issues over several days, including claims that invoices were not received. That created a difficult closeout process and made it clear this was no longer a productive business relationship. We take concerns seriously, but we also believe reviews should reflect the full picture. It is not accurate to suggest there was simply a lack of accountability without acknowledging the repeated payment and communication issues on your end as well. We stand by the work that was completed and by the effort made to bring the project across the finish line. We wish you the best moving forward.

Hi Don! Thank you for your review. For context to anyone reading this: no contract was ever signed, no deposit was ever paid, and no work was ever started on this project. Like many contractors, we require an upfront deposit before scheduling and beginning work. That deposit covers project preparation, scheduling, and materials. This was explained clearly from the start. The issue was not that we “disappeared” or refused to do the job. The issue was that you did not agree with our payment process, and we do not begin projects without a deposit in place. Once it became clear that our terms were not acceptable to you, we chose not to move forward. That was the right decision for both sides. Calling a company a “scam” because it would not start work without a signed agreement and deposit is simply not accurate. We stand by our team, our process, and our decision to walk away from a project when expectations are not aligned.

Horrible experience start to finish. Taking advantage of my 80 year old parents. My parents asked for a quote at the beginning. They said whatever the insurance gives that’s how much they’ll do it for. Turns out that is a LIE. They wanted almost 10,000$ dollars more. They said they did “extra” things. Wrong! The boss wasn’t even here to check on the job. They said they were going to drywall the inside ceilings where water damage was. WRONG! They painted over the spots and by the time they left you could see the spots still. They had about 15 ply boards and the shingles and they were calling the insurance company everyday to try to get “another check” for almost double what the insurance quoted us. When they finished the shingles they didn’t bother to clean up nails all over my yard. I had to call them and get them back out to clean up the next day . I have 2 dogs and they knew that and still didn’t care. The company never came back to check the work. Now months later they are calling us wanting more money from the insurance company, threatening us that we owe them more money saying they could put a lien on the house. This company is SHADY! NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! They’re suppose to be for the troops? All we seen was, money hungry liars that will screw you and your insurance company.

Pick anyone else! We had a tornado and they came to South Salem handing out cards. .My work is still not finished!! They did not work with the insurance company. They passed the buck and made me fight them. They’ve sent three crews to look at the siding. Still, it is not done went through the winter with busted windows because they had one excuse after another. Every time I call, I get the run around.

Joe and his crew were storm chasing following hurricane Ian, in Englewood Florida. They mistakenly tarped my undamaged house. After realizing their mistake they did NOT call or notify me in any way of the damage they caused to my undamaged roof, which had a lifetime warranty. I had to fly down to Florida as an emergency flight to investigate the damage roofing for troops caused to my home. Upon calling them, Joe's son Ian answered the phone and with the mention of my name knew exactly who I was and why I was calling. Ian immediately apologized for their mistake and assured me that they would make it right. THEY CHOOSE NOT TO NOTIFY ME OF THEIR MISTAKE AND WHEN I ASK WHY, IAN RESPONDED THAT A NEIGHBOR HAD TOLD THEM I WAS OLD, NEVER THERE, AND DYING OF CANCER. So you figure that one out! Two months later still no resolution and Joe will not speak to me on the phone, he spoke to me 1 time and assured me they would take care of the problem. Their insurance company Cincinnati Insurance is offering me a total of $7,800 to replace my roof, the lowest written estimate that I could get and submitted was about $18,000. All estimates range from $18,000 to $24,000 to correct their mistake. So I am supposed to pay out of my pocket $11,000 dollars to correct their mistake. Currently this issue remains on going, there has been ZERO COMMUNICATION, AND JOE HIDES BEHIND HIS PHONE AND WILL NOT RETURN A CALL, NOR WILL ANYONE ELSE AT ROOFING FOR TROOPS. So my only option to is pay $18,000 out of pocket to replace the tarp that was mistakenly screwed to my undamaged roof and turn it over to an attorney. This company has caused me untold grief and concern, two months later after admitting their mistake a tarp remains on my roof. Cincinnati Insurance told me I was responsible for maintaining the tarp and would be responsible for any subsequent damage to my home. So beware of this group of Christians who have chosen to never Do the right thing and correct their mistake. Ask

This is a complete lie. If I find this guy I’ll sue him myself and more if it was legal. What a coward. We donated thousands to help people in relief and this person filed a false complaint. The truth is that Phillip is on a mission to get free stuff from the disaster that hit and got called out on it. He is lying across the board. Total scum ball

Landon came out to look at my home because my insurance company told me I had roof damage from a recent storm and my roof was missing shingles on the very top. Landon took multiple pictures and showed them to me. Much to my surprise, my roof was fully intact and not missing any shingles. Landon was professional, informative, respectful, and easy to talk to.

Communication is terrible, but everyone we met with this company was very nice (especially Felipe) and they did a great job and pricing was fair. We bought windows from them and had a couple of other projects done. We were told it would take about two weeks for the windows to come in and be installed, but it ended up taking two months. I am totally fine with that, but after a few weeks had gone by and no one reached out, I texted our POC. No response. I realized we didn’t seek out this company, they came to us, so I started thinking maybe the company wasn’t legitimate and felt really stupid for giving them a couple thousand dollars. Called the company and found out the guy who I texted no longer worked with them, but nobody told me. Also found out they needed to remeasure the windows, but nobody told me. Windows were remeasured, weeks went by with no contact. I called again and the person who answered the phone said “hello” rather than the name of the company, which was still not reassuring to me that I was dealing with a legitimate company. I scoured the Internet multiple times the past few weeks trying to figure out if this company was a scam, wondering if I should report them to my credit card company, and all I could find was good reviews. So, here is the review I would have wanted to see to reassure me the job was going to get done and it was merely an issue of poor communication.

Roofing for Troops just finished putting on new siding and painting my house. Their support to address issues with our older home and working around other contractors was amazing. Their attention to detail and dedication to make sure it was done right and looked good was fantastic. Responsive, transparent, and incredible quality. My 64 year old house looks new again!
