We had a full reroof completed on June 25, 2024 as part of a solar project. What we didn’t know at the time was that the solar company subcontracted the job to Ren Lyfe Contracting LLC—something we only discovered a couple of days into the project when we noticed the required roofing permit was not posted on-site. Instead, the crew kept it hidden in their vehicle until we questioned it. This lack of transparency was our first red flag. While the crew appeared fast and “efficient,” their work was dangerously negligent. Ren Lyfe failed to properly vent our furnace and hot water heater exhaust to the outside of our home. Instead, the exhaust pipe was removed and left dumping directly into our attic. This created a serious carbon monoxide hazard, extreme condensation, and widespread mold growth. We now know that Ren Lyfe never performed a legitimate midpoint inspection on our project. Despite clear notes from the inspector requiring the roof to be removed so the decking could be checked, they went ahead and finished the roof anyway. They then failed to complete the required final inspection, leaving us with hidden dangers that only came to light months later. We consider ourselves extremely lucky that our children, pets, and family survived this negligence. Had this gone undetected longer, the outcome could have been tragic. The damage to our home has exceeded $150,000, not including the tens of thousands spent on Airbnbs while displaced. Our entire upper ceiling, living room, kitchen, and part of our bathroom had to be gutted down to the studs. Multiple rounds of professional mold testing and environmental remediation were required, and we spent over 12 weeks out of our home while it was rebuilt. To make matters worse, Ren Lyfe’s permitting history in Spokane shows this is not an isolated case. They currently have over a dozen outstanding permits in the City of Spokane alone that remain incomplete. Many inspection records show that city inspectors required the roof

We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we want to provide full context to ensure clarity for anyone reviewing this situation. First, we acknowledge that during your roofing project, a furnace vent connection was mistakenly not re-attached. That was an honest human error, and we’ve always been transparent about it. However, it’s important to clarify that this single issue was not the sole or primary cause of the widespread mold or moisture damage that later occurred. When our crew removed the old roof, we found significant pre-existing dry rot and mold already present in sections of the original decking—damage that had developed long before our work began. We replaced all of that decking in full to restore structural integrity and installed a brand-new roofing system with updated ventilation to bring the home up to current code. After completion, a mechanical gable fan inside the attic—unrelated to our installation—was discovered to be running continuously through the cold winter months. This fan was drawing in cold, moisture-laden air and counteracting the new passive ventilation system we installed. The result was an extreme imbalance of temperature and humidity inside the attic, creating the perfect conditions for condensation and mold growth. The combination of that faulty gable fan, existing hidden moisture, and the naturally high humidity of the season is what ultimately led to the interior issues described. This was verified during follow-up site visits and supported by the physical airflow behavior observed in the attic. We also want to make it clear that this project was contracted through Purelight Power, and we performed the roofing portion under their agreement and supervision. All communication, warranty processing, and follow-up work were coordinated through their team. Once the issue arose, we immediately offered to assist with any repairs or remediation necessary. At the request of Purelight and the homeowners,

We had Chris, Carlos, Andrea and crew replace our old and failing roof. I can’t say enough about their quality of work, communication and competitiveness. They completed two homes for us and we couldn’t be happier. Professional, competent. I will use them again if needed!

This is the first time I have chosen to write a review of any kind. My husband and I became very aware that our home needed a new roof, I got 3 bids to review. Ren Lyfe was the company we chose. I am so happy we did. The roof was done in 3 days; However, the real amazement was quality job that was done. My entire home site was cleaned up and not so much a scrap of trash or nail was found anywhere. At the end of the job the owner stopped by to make sure all went well with the project and wanted to ensure the job was done properly. For the last 18 years I have worked in facilities and have worked with many contractors over the years, it is so refreshing to see not only the quality of the work but the care that went into doing not to mention attention to detail. If you are looking for a roofer look no farther choose Ren Lyfe for any roofing needs, you will be so happy you did. The Curtis Family

This roofing company is the BEST!! Ren Lyfe was referred to me by a friend and I'm so glad I went with them. Chris was super responsive, professional, and answered all my questions and concerns. Above all else, he was willing to drive to Baker City to replace the roof on my rental property. He sent photos during the job and a video of them hosing the turret to ensure no leaking. The cost was well under any of the local roofers who gave me an estimate. Thank you, Chris and your team, for a great job at a very affordable price, for your professionalism and caring!! I will definitely refer you to anyone and everyone!
