  We called for a roof inspection and Bill Mellinger was the employee that was sent to inspect our roof. Upon arrival, he was very rude and asked “who is this up on the roof?” I told him it was another roof inspector. Then he proceeded to say “then what am I doing here?” He made it sound like I was wasting his time during the entire conversation. Then, he went up on the roof for maybe 2 minutes, came down and said there’s no roof damage. Meanwhile, the other roof inspector spent 25 minutes taking a lot of picture and showed me where the roof damage was.Bill was very unprofessional and gave me the impression that I was wasting his time. Updated from your comment: I was told by the other roof inspector that Bill didn’t even bother to look at the gutter where the damage actually was. Also, Bill was the one that texted to come earlier, so I let him. If he were offended by another roof inspector, is he really “Seasoned”? And if by “theatrics” you mean being well-manored and actually having a professional conversation, then you’re right, he’s not about “theatrics”. Also it’s very normal to have multiple inspections, you’re not the only roofing company. If you’re truly defending his actions, you will lose plenty of customers to other roofing companies. It would be baffling to me if anyone would choose your roofing company with the way he interacts his clients. Please don’t be offended by my honestly and use it to better your business.

  Hi Thomas, thanks for your feedback. Bill Mellinger is a seasoned inspector known for his honesty — not theatrics. If he seemed surprised to find another roofer already on the roof, it’s because most professionals don’t expect to compete mid-inspection. We don’t waste time inflating damage for the sake of photos. If there’s real damage, we’ll show it. If there isn’t, we’ll say so — even if that’s not what you wanted to hear. Best of luck moving forward, The Pioneer Roofing Team

  When searching for a company to replace our vinyl siding, we were hoping to stay with a local, reputable company. After a few different quotes, we felt confident in choosing Pioneer after their competitive quote & decent communication. However, after we signed the contract, everything seemed to change. Communication substantially decreased. We were told the night before the job was to start, leaving us little time to prep. Following the job, there were a handful of issues we brought up. Without notice, an employee showed up on a Saturday, said they’d come back on Monday to fix them. No communication on Monday, and after we reached out, we were told Wednesday, still no one came. A week went by and we reached out again. Eventually, caulking was redone, but a loose electrical outlet was not re-secured. The next day, someone in an unmarked vehicle and street clothes showed up with a drill on our back porch, without us having any idea they were coming to fix the outlet. The most frustrating part was that we paid an additional amount to have the trim board around a large picture window replaced and resealed, due to prior water issues. Following the job, when the next heavy storm came, water began to leak inside the house during the middle of the night, substantially worse than our previous leak. Once we got up on the roof, we found several issues around the window, including no caulking under the window, several large cracks in the new caulking and reused metal flashing. When we called Pioneer, they said they could come look at it that week. Two weeks later a team came and hopped up on the roof without even knocking on the door or texting one of us, literally standing outside our second story bathroom window. The following week they replaced the flashing, re-caulked and there was no additional follow-up or communication from anyone at Pioneer.   The first time I called them, they said they would show up that day to inspect my roof. I was impressed…until they didn’t show. The next day, I texted to see if I had texted my address to the wrong number. They did show up that time to assess storm damage. Bill seemed disappointed that it didn’t look like it would be a big insurance job to replace the whole roof, noting some damaged downspouts and siding, but saying with a newer roof like mine, it’s unlikely to need a full replacement. I noted that there was some damage to fix and that I needed it done whether or not it was worth an insurance claim and that I’d be willing to pay for it if it wasn’t worth turning in to insurance. He said he didn’t have a ladder long enough to get on my roof, so he’d need to return with a helper to get up there. I never heard got a response back after that and he never showed up to get on the roof to inspect it. Given the good reviews out there, I was disappointed with the experience. I can’t comment on the quality of work since they never even gave me an estimate.

  Called about a small leak in roof and was told that someone would be scheduled in the next week or so. When called back in 8 days to understand when work could be completed - we were completely "ghosted". Never heard back and work was not completed.

  Hi Vance my apologies. I accept full responsibility in dropping the ball. I know i came out the same day you called in. As a small company we have been extremely busy. Although its not excuse it unfortunately happened. I believe we were just talking about a small pipe boot and 2 missing shingles. We certainly can still address that for you. If I remember correctly insurance was not involved. I know it was a while back but I think I said I would inspect the roof when we did the repair.   I spent almost two years searching for the right roofing company and got quotes from 7 or 8 different contractors. I’ll admit I was slow to make a decision—I was nervous about getting taken advantage of or ripped off. From Newman to Able and several door-to-door roofers in between, none of them gave me the confidence I needed until I met Chris Adkins at Pioneer Roofing. Unlike the others, Chris offered a zero-pressure presentation, respected my timeline, and even honored his original quote when I finally reached back out more than eight months later. On top of that, Pioneer’s warranty easily beat the competition. Chris is hands-down the best in my book, and I can't recommend Pioneer Roofing enough to anyone asking on Nextdoor!

  Pioneer made the process of repairing my roof very simple and at a fair cost. Chris was able to pinpoint the issue that was leading to water running in on the wall of my bedroom, document it and make the repair to resolve the issue. I definitely recommend Pioneer and will utilize them for future service.

  We have a 1960 modern-style house with a low pitch membrane roof. It’s a split level, so the roof has multiple levels and angles. It is a complex job. Wes Graham and crew at Pioneer took on the job. Roof replacement, new gutters with leaf guards, two skylight upgrades, and improved gutter drainage. All aspects of the project went off flawlessly! A 5 out of 5 rating, on all aspects.
