  We were looking to buy a home that we knew needed a new roof. Called Oceanside to see if they could give us a ballpark estimate. We Waited a week and did not receive a call back. I called back in and asked again. Got a call later that day from Paul and we explained what we were looking for. We got a rough estimate of what the job would cost. Great! Bought the home, and called back the following week to get them to come out and do a full estimate and was told that they are short staffed and they could not take on a job until the at least January. Even though I explained that we are not taking possession until January, Paul said he would not proceed. Now, this was a larger job (cedar shake conversion), but why waste my time from the start if you can’t do the job, especially when you give me a timeline and I explain that we can fit into it?

  On October 19th we were called requesting a “ballpark estimate” via Google Earth as you were buying the home. We frequently get these calls and respond with courtesy, not as a confirmation that we would take on the job. We do not do large cedar conversions in January so there was some communication crossing again there. Vancouver Island is a beautiful place to live. We hope you enjoy your new life here.

  Tried to use 'this business' but they didn't want mine. Gave some lame excuse about a person they were going to hire but I guess he didn't fit the bill, nor did I. Obviously I had too many wants.

  It took several phone calls to get a straight answer out of them that they didn't want to do our residential roofing job. Not very professional.

  Not sure what happened here. We looked through our messages and could not find anything with your name on it. We pride ourselves on returning calls within one business day, even if it is not a type of roof we do or the request is out of our service area.

  I tried calling for a job i need done. It is a smaller job. Tried to explain what was needed. The lady jumped before i could finish, saying they dont do gutters. Then she hung up on me I didnt need gutters i needed a section of roof repair done so i could put gutters on. No call back. Nothing. The phone call lasted 2 minutes. So not a big job i guess they are to good for that.

  I remember this call that came in last week. I was on cell phone and had horrible reception. What you perceived as me hanging up was the call being disconnected from poor service. Once I got back to the office I just had Paul call you back to answer your questions. At that point you must have been angry as you hung up on him. Sorry for the mis-communication. I can imagine you would have been upset if you felt I hung up on you.

  From start to finish dealing with Oceanside Roofing Ltd was a very positive experience. To help in choosing the colour, they provided the addresses of the roofs they had installed, some with high profile ridgecaps and some without. The crew were hard working, friendly, respectful and kept the job site tidy.

  Anticipating that I would soon need a new roof, I called Paul twice in the past decade for an estimate. Both times he told me I didn't need one. To me that indicated honesty and integrity. Otherwise he would just have taken my money. So I trusted him years before I hired him. I didn't even worry about the price. I trusted him. Finally I did need a new roof. It was quickly and expertly done. The final wrinkle was that in the course of replacement, some soffits had to be removed. Paul helped me track down contractors to replace them. I couldn't recommend him and his team highly enough

  Oceanside just finished a new roof on our house on Pym St. It looks great, they were finished when they said they would be, they left no mess when they were done and communication with them was great. Would highly recommend them.
