  You get what you pay for. Our contractor for a project recommended Mid Florida Roofing. This was in August 2023. Lots of headache and hassle. Bob gave us an estimate for a rolled roof but chose to not measure the pitch on the roof and rather "eyeballed" it. This led to during install needing to add thousands extra to "build up" add a few inches of pitch to the roof. This would have been the case no matter what, but could have easily been measured upon initial quote but Bob chose to "eye it". Bob was very much a hassle, was clumsy, and fell on our roof twice because he was walking backwards. He was not good at communication in keeping us posted. He also agreed to fix something extra and then tried to manipulate numbers and was being very shady. We additionally needed to have workers come out again after inspection to fix the corners of the rolled roof that weren't glued/heated down all the way. It was promised to us that they would also come pick up nails with a magnet which did not happen. We were finding roofing nails for months around the entirety of the perimeter of the house. I would have rather paid a bit more for less headache and more thorough work. I am giving it 2 stars instead of just one, because now since everything has been resolved, we have not had any leaks.

  Matt, I don’t do much online but I do want to respond. It’s unfortunate you had problems with your new home. Valleys do not have L flashing , you might be referring to valley metal. Mid Florida Roofing, like most company’s, use a 36” wide mineral service for the valleys these days which is part of Florida building code. I see in the pictures the roof has older plank decking. We did replace 100’s of feet of decking when the roof was completed. Those type of roof decks are notorious for having lots of wood to replace and tons of cracked decking. We only replaced what was damaged at the time. Any nail pops or other issues would have never passed final inspection by the county when we completed the roof. Also very surprising the home inspector didn’t note this when you purchased the house. That would’ve been an easy warranty fix. My apologies if you think we did something incorrectly.   Be cautious with what the quote is verses what you will have to pay at the end. Blind sided with an extra $1,400 in lumber charge at the time to pay. Handed a bill with no company name on it! Threatened with liening my house. Not one of the roofers spoke English. Caused additional damage to solar piping (cut them off the roof)! I was not given any indication or call to say the lumber was at this amount. Oh and the salesman works at Buck's Lumber!! Sorry but not good business! Work in construction and this in not acceptable in the industry!! Be cautious.

  So I'm renting a unit that has a leak. I call the landlord, he sends out the ac guy, ac guy says it's not them, so landlord calls a roofer. Rob Johnston came out, looked at it, said it wasn't the roof and whatnot, looks like it's coming from the door instead. Okay cool, thanks for the info! Says he's going to get me a card to call him in the future. Seems pretty standup so far, right? While he went out, I ended up getting wrapped up with a client on the phone while assisting a coworker with some IT help. So my receptionist end up taking his card and talking to him. This guy had the gall to tell her to tell me to quit wasting his time, and that he's already lost money because of me. Wow dude. I'll be sure to let the landlord know not to use you anymore. Thanks!

  The worst company I have ever dealt with. This company and Buck Lumber is a scam, they jack up the price by adding in supplies mid stream of the work. They change the terms mid-stream of work so you have no choice. Purposely put you over a barrel.

  Our apologies. On the front of the contract is very clear writing that woodwork is not included. We do the woodwork for cost and if you’d have looked at anyone’s contract you would see how much cheaper we are and everyone has to charge for wood work. Sorry you feel you were surprised but we are as straight forward and try to save customers the most money possible on any extras. The only barrel you’d be be put over definitely would not be by us!   After the hurricane a little while ago, I was worried about replacing the roof because I thought there was no way I could afford it. Bobby was so nice and helpful and it was so easy to work with him and my insurance. Bobby and the whole team at Mid Florida Roofing were wonderful to work with from start to finish. No waiting around, they got right on it and got the whole roof fixed FAST. I checked out several other companies and MFR was cheaper AND faster than what all the other companies quoted me. Now over a year later, the roof still looks brand new and we’ve never had any issues.

  We are based in Toronto, Canada and needed roofing repairs done on a property in Florida. From the first call, Mid Florida Roofing was professional and easy to work with. The owner, Bobby, provided a very reasonable quote and followed up by sending a clear, official, and fully itemized quotation directly to our property management company, including warranty details. The work was completed on time as promised. Throughout the repair, Bobby kept us updated with before-and-after photos, which gave us a lot of confidence since we were coordinating everything remotely.   We are very happy with our new roof done by Midflorida Roofing. Bobby was very professional and knowledgeable in everything he did. He came to our house personally to measure the roof and do the precise quote. His price was the best out of several other companies I contacted, Some of them did the quote using a satellite picture of the house and did not even come to look at the roof itself. I prefer talking to the person who will be responsible for putting a new roof over my head so to speak...Bobby explained the whole process from beginning to the very end as we had never replaced a roof before. He did everything exactly as promised. His crew were very professional and respectful, they made a point to cover the landscaping and plants around the house with tarps and they cleaned up every time before they left. They even picked up the nails from the ground with a special magnetic tool which I thought was very smart in case the old roofing nails got on the rocks and mulch around the house. They were done in 2 days and the roof passed all the inspections by the county. I would definitely recommend this company to all my family members and friends.
