  If we only had a roof claim, and Maupin only did the roofing, I'd add one star. The roof seems fine, but of course we can't actually check anything since it's over 2 stories tall. They supposedly came back to clean up roofing nails twice, but we picked up hundreds ourselves, and we still find them occasionally almost six months later. We also had other damage to our gutters, pergola, and shutters included in our roof claim. Maupin's subcontractor on our job was absolutely awful and actually caused more damage than we started with, even after returning to "fix" issues. We didn't want him to touch another thing and did not have them complete the rest of the job. I only went with them based on their well known name in the business and a neighbor's recommendation, and I fully regret it.

Your comments about the nail cleanup, subcontractor performance, and damage to other parts of your property are extremely concerning.   their workers think it’s ok to flip off people at stop signs because he assumed it was his turn. don’t need someone with that bad of anger issues working on my roof personally! some advice would be to not flip people off in your company vehicle!

  Guy was in a company truck and almost running people off the road on highway 152 wouldn't suggest doing business with someone who endangers people's lives on the road.

  Had my roof replaced by Maupin Roofing. The owner Bob Maupin was on task throughout the process, guiding me through the Insurance claim and the whole process. Very efficient, and a quality job. I can’t speak highly enough about them.

  After attempting to get an original roofer on a property we are selling to make a repair on a roof less than a year old and they refused, we called Jamie and he had it taken care of in less than a week.   Bob was very helpful, he kept us up to date on plan and progress. The new color match drip edge matched the house perfectly. The crew was fast and cleaned up the site thoroughly. I have no doubt the gutters will look great as well. I highly recommend Maupin Roofing and construction!!

  When shopping for a roofing company, we looked at reviews, checked with the Oklahoma Construction Board and the BBB. We chose Maupin Roofing. We worked with Joe Bankston. He explained the entire process and worked directly with our insurance company. We also needed some additional work and Joe took care of that as well. All in all, a very professional group of people.

  Joe Bankston and the Maupin roofers did a fantastic job of replacing my roof. They have been timely, professional, met HOA specs, and did a great clean up job! And, Joe has been awesome in navigating the insurance paperwork!! I will definitely be calling them again when/if I have any further roofing needs.

  I needed my deck replaced, so I called a guy I used to put up my fence about 10 years ago. He had done a great job and the lowest bid by far of any other places I got. He ignored me several times and when he finally got back to me, he wanted twice what I had budgeted. I know Bob is a roofer. When I had storm damage the last three times Bob came out with his crew and AND did a wonderful job. On the off chance he might work on decks I called him. His bid was half of the first guys. He didn’t ignore any of my calls. Got the deck replaced on budget on time and my wife, who makes these judgments, was very pleased with the final job. I wish I had called him in the first place cause it would’ve been done weeks earlier. I can’t say enough good things About Bob and his cruise. If you need work done, call him first, because I sure will. Thank you, thank you thank you Bob.

Roof pitch does more work in Norman than most homeowners realize. It quietly shapes how your roof handles everything Oklahoma throws at it. For homes with asphalt shingles, something in the 4:12 to 6:12 range is a practical starting point, though the right answer depends on your specific house rather than a universal rule. Steeper slopes shed rain faster and reduce standing water, which matters during the downpours we get each spring. Lower slopes aren't a problem in themselves, but they demand stricter attention to underlayment and manufacturer specifications, since water moves more slowly across them. Where pitch gets oversold is storm protection. A steeper roof will not save you from hail or straight-line winds. What actually holds up in those conditions is installation quality - solid deck attachment, quality underlayment, secure edges, and flashing done correctly. Pitch also narrows your material options. Asphalt works across a broad range, metal is flexible, and very low slopes may call for a membrane system instead.
