  A metal was roof was installed on our house, and shoddy workmanship was performed. Come to find out they were not licensed in Massachusetts and never obtained a building permit!! We are awaiting a HAAG inspection report to bring to our lawyer.

  The roof installation was completed, as well you requested that we install a complete snow retention system. Once that work was finished, you asked that the entire snow rail system be removed after having over a week to review it. We honored that request. As with many construction projects, there were a few minor punch list items that we intended to address. However, we were not given the opportunity to complete those items, as we were denied access to the property despite multiple attempts to return. The final contract balance also remains unpaid. We have always been willing to stand behind our work and address legitimate concerns when we're given the opportunity to do so. Because this matter is now being handled through legal channels, we'll allow the facts and documentation to speak for themselves. The Marquis Roofing Team

  I called Marquis roofing to request a quote for snow and ice dam removal from our roof. The woman I spoke with said she looked at the satellite view of our house, claimed it was a “very large” house (our house is only 2,400 square feet), and said it would probably take a team of 6-8 people an entire day to clean our roof. With this assumption, she said it could cost up to $3,300 to clean our roof. I asked some follow up questions to get more specifics and finally was was able to learn that the hourly rate is $175/hr per person. Given our house is not very big, I expected the cleaning to only take a couple of hours and so I decided to confirm the appointment. A team of four people in a very old and dilapidated van arrived at 945am the next morning, and four men worked for about 90 minutes to completely clean our roof. They were great and worked hard, and did a good job cleaning the snow and ice from our roof. They were not Marquis employees but were clearly hired by Marquis to clean our roof. I have no issues with that team who did the actual work. (I wish I could have hired them directly rather than paying Marquis who likely marked up the cost 2-3x to make an easy profit.) A few days later, someone from Marquis called me and told me we owed $3300. I asked how that could be possible given the work only took 90 minutes. They said they’d speak with the owner and get back to me. After two weeks and 4-5 follow up calls, during which they gradually lowered the price, the owner finally agreed to accept $1,050 as the price, which was $175/hr x 4 men x 1.5 hours. It was a very frustrating process and it felt like they were trying to squeeze as much money out of us as possible without considering the actual facts of the situation.

Snow and ice dam removal is quoted as a flat rate based on estimated labor, risk, roof layout, and severity of buildup, not simply square footage. The hourly figure you referenced is part of how we internally calculate crew cost, but customers are not billed strictly by a time clock. When the crew arrived and completed the work, the invoice reflected the originally discussed pricing structure. After multiple conversations, it became clear you were only willing to pay based strictly on your own hourly calculation. In an effort to close the matter and move forward, the owner agreed to accept the $1,050 payment you proposed. We do not attempt to “squeeze” customers. Winter emergency work involves real-time staffing decisions, liability, and crew deployment based on projected scope. That said, we understand how the difference between an estimated flat rate and the final time on site can create frustration if expectations are not perfectly aligned. We appreciate your acknowledgment that the crew worked hard and did a good job. We will continue working on clearer communication around how winter emergency pricing is structured.   I was ripped off by this company! They took one hour to take off snow and ice from a 2000 square foot home. I hate to think what it would have cost if my roof was bigger! And I just found out that a local roofer was charging only $700 for the same service.

  Do not use this company. Used them to do siding. Their siding people covered one of outdoor lights without a light box. Just sided right over the wires after removing the light. When the job was "finished" we did a walk around with the project manager. I showed him the light issue, as well as some clean-up issues, a plastic sleeve they broke on my mini-split pipes, and two giant pallets that the equipment came on that needed to be removed. They promised it would be taken care of, and stated they really needed the rest of the money. I expressed my concerns about them coming back if I gave them the money without the job being compete.He suggested that we hold $1,500 back until they came back to take care of everything. Approx. 9 days later, he came back. The sleeve was fixed, a light box was installed but I don't know if it's just for show yet as there aren't wires sticking out like the other boxes. The clean up issue was not taken care of (red chalk or something on my new deck) and two giant pallets (the length of small cars) are still in my yard. The manager stated that he would "cut them up if I have to." to remove them. Unfortunately, my wife paid him half way through his follow-up work and had to leave. After she left, we could see him look at the pallets for a few minutes on our camera, then drove away. Their contract states that "We prioritize your property's cleanliness...At the end of the project your property will be restored to it's original state." I've called several times (very politely)with no one returning my calls even though the secretary always expresses her sympathy with my issue, and states that she has talked to a boss about this. Two of us had to slide the pallets out of the way as they left them right in the way of plowing snow. I paid a lot of money for them to not honor their contract. Still waiting for my promised call back. I'll edit this review further with the outcome.

  Unsatisfied due to buckling roof. Marquis put on a roof less than six months ago that is now buckling -- looks like the edge of the plywood sheets are lifting off the deck.

  Uneven roofing job (see attached pictures). Garbage in neighbors yard. Roofing nails left on road. Nice people, but unsatisfactory work.

  Marquis roofing took care of a venting problem on my roof due to their original installation. In fairness the error is due to my unusual roof venting requirements. - the proper venting is unusual and was missed on the exterior installation. The issue was discovered when my ceiling showed condensation. I contacted Marquis roofing several months later to fix the problem. Thought it took some to get the repair crew on sight. The work was done properly, and I am happy that Marquis Covered the cost. They stand up to their work! And that’s a really good thing. .

  This is the second roof that Marquis has done for us and are as equally impressed as we were the first time! We hoped to maintain the old siding that one of our rooflines abutted. They assured us that the flashing could easily be slipped underneath without disturbing our siding. They took our concern seriously did what they said they would do. Additionally, we had some rot on a section of the framing of two of our roof sections being redone. Marquis had the patience to work around a carpenter friend of ours while he repaired the rot. I am very certain that Marquis could have handled the repair, but we just opted to have our carpenter friend resolve. We are very thankful for the team at Marquis Roofing!

  I was incredibly impressed from start to finish!! Brad, who did the initial estimate, was thorough, knowledgeable, and not a pushy sales person at all, which I appreciate. He provided me with a lot of information, a reasonable quote, and was quick to respond via email to any questions I had before signing the contract. Leading up to our install date, the company reached out several times to keep me up to date and confirm the install date and the delivery of the roofing materials the day before. The day of the install was unbelievable. The crew was there early, and before I had even finished my morning coffee they had most of our old gross shingles off our house. Marquis should teach a class in efficiency; every person on the team had a specific job and worked seamlessly together and with unbelievable speed and precision. It was absolutely fascinating to watch! Ryan and Juan oversaw the entire process, making sure everything was done properly, and Ryan kept me informed of the condition of the roof and what they were seeing throughout the process. When they were finished, they thoroughly combed the entire yard visually and with roller magnets ensuring they picked up every last nail. A huge thank you to Brad, Ryan, Juan, and the entire team at Marquis. I highly recommend them and could not be more satisfied with not only our new roof, but the entire process!
