Sounded good to start, but has under delivered in all manners. 1. Guaranteed us that the 19 additional panels installed to our already existing 16 panels on our 3700 sq ft house would be enough to cover more than 130% of our current usage; therefore resulting in no electricity bill. FALSE, Still getting an average bill of $100 a month. 2. During installation, drilled hours into roof, causing leak on a rainy day and then failed to take ownership and go back on the roof to fix it. 3. When we had XMas lights installed, it was that individual that informed us of all the broken tiles on our roof that was left behind. 4. Said that we would able monitor generation and consumption of the panels alongside the original set of 16-panels. WRONG AGAIN. Each system reads the other generation units as consumption so we cannot get an accurate reading of generation. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW, DONT GUARANTEE SOMETHING YOU ARE IGNORANT ABOUT. 5. This one is my oversight... The finance charge for the cost of the solar was 3% more expensive than the solar panels itself. Cost was $28k, finance charge was $32k... Paying $60k for panels that are not working as was agreed upon. 6. When my husband called to speak to representative about the efficiency of the panels and asking for service tech, the customer service rep said that they would schedule someone for TODAY. When my husband calls this morning to confirm, they customer service rep said that the individual coming will speak with Jason about additional panels..... WTH!!! NOOOOOOOOO the visit was to be about the inefficiency of the existing panels not producing what had already been promised, why in heavens name would we sign up for more!!! WOULD NOT recommend doing business with this company. Just choose another company.

Guyou construction is a scam. One the worst solar installation companies, for multiple reasons: …

They tricked me into a poor system with a very expensive price. Like buying a home, you always need an agent to take care of you. I made the big mistake of directly hiring Guyou construction and I paid a lot more without knowing my rights and options and received a non-optimal solar.

Unfortunately you have left your review for the wrong company. The company you signed a contract with was Enver and that was back in 2012 or 2013. Our records indicate Enver went out of business and Enphase who manufactured your micro … More

Installation was smooth, fast and reliable, but the results after the fact were awful, I am now stuck paying for electric panels, and the same bill amount I had before I installed. Be careful as they will reel you in with what seems to be a no brainer, but when you call them out on their empty promises they have no real answers.

Guyou took over maintenance of my solar array from the company who installed the system in 2014 and is now listed as the installer on my Enphase account. I think my original installer went out of business and Guyou became the new service company. I am not sure how that happens but Guyou must have initiated the transfer. I live in West Los Angeles and Guyou is in San Bernardino, 70 miles away. I don't understand why Guyou would want a system that far away. Recently one of the micro-inverters went bad and Enphase immediately sent a replacement. I contacted Guyou several time via email to have the new micro-inverter installed but heard nothing back. I called several times and left messages but again nothing, finally I was able to catch someone on the phone. A service tech came to the site and installed the micro-inverter at a cost $600.00. It took him 45 minutes to do the install. On the website Guyou states that a service call is $270 for the first 2 hours and $81 per technician after the first 2 hours. One Tech came out and as I said it only took 45 minutes to do the work. I should have been charged $270 not $600. I was quoted $600 before the job and I agreed to the contract only because finding another company to work on my system was very difficult. Most never returned a requested quote and the one who did wanted $300 to transfer my panel system to their company. I had no other choice but to agree to Guyou's fee. Guyou took over my orphaned panels willingly. I did not ask them to. They knew the travel time between West Los Angeles and San Bernardino. I will be looking for a local company to expand my system and for future service. I think it is time for the state or federal government to monitor the way solar companies do business. It's a wild west landscape out there. If you need repair on your panels good luck. One star for service for Guyou.

UPDATE to OWNER: Your statement is not true. I did talk to your associate after my review and explained my reasons. She agreed with me and my assessment. So don’t understand when you say “I declined”. That’s completely false statement. Second, I did give him my utility bill. Plus everyone knows utility bill has nothing to do with providing a proposal. Utility bill is used to size the system. So don’t try to play that card “utility bill not provided”. I already told him and your company that I need 6KW system. He had a layout and pricing with him. He told me verbally just the $$ but never gave a proposal to explain why you are 50% more than other reputable companies….. whether you kept him or no longer with company is hard to verify so let’s hope your company and your staff doesn’t make same mistakes again. Any company can be “best” if they can change 50% more!! ORIGINAL: Do not do solar with them. Typical cheap car salesman mentality. The sales guy wanted to give me a “great deal” by charging me 50% more than closest 2nd bid. I had 4 bids all from reputable solar companies with much more expensive solar panels (REC, Panasonic). And this guy wanted to charge 50% more for Canadian Solar panels. And when I asked for a copy of proposal his response “I am here to close deal but looks like you are not ready for Solar”. Never gave me a quote. Had Zero technical knowledge and considered himself “manager”. My installation was very simple/straight forward. Typically cheap car salesman mentality. Tries to talk big game! Needless to say I went with someone else with my solar project. Don’t waste your time with them. Unless you have lot of money and don’t care about cost.

Guyou Construction was fabulous. Two young men arrived on time, installed everything quickly and professionally, explained what they were doing and left everything neat and clean. The company arranged everything with Edison so I didn’t have to do anything. Very professional and trustworthy. Very grateful.

I had Guyou install my solar in 2023. My solar went down suddenly, I contacted Guyou and they were on it! They helped communicate with the manufacturer, it was an inverter issue, and they had the new part sent to me immediately. Once delivered, I was able to schedule an appointment promptly and get my solar back up and running. Good communication, thank you!

I signed up last minute just before the incentives ended & Guyou came through for me. Dealing with the city, SCE, inspectors & permits is a long process and everything was approved, Guyou worked fast, efficient and always kept me informed via email or text. So far it’s been a good experience so I recommend that everyone find a professional company like Guyou. I did my research and dealt with several fly by night companies and they were very pushy & more expensive. I felt safe with Guyou the entire process so I gave them 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you Guyou!

The solar and battery backup installers that Guyou sent were great. Both teams showed up on time, explained what they were going to do, did a nice job and cleaned everything up so you couldn’t even tell they were ever there. My husband is a general contractor who prides himself on the quality of his work, said it was “very well done” and “pristine”. Thanks again guys, we love our new solar system!

    Reply from the business
