Your crew left trash that I had to pick up along with nails that I stepped on and in my driveway nearly drove over. They knocked out my satellite twice and left with a lot of my old good tiles don't know if those tiles could have been reused

    Reply from the business

Hi Josh, we apologize for the mess left behind, and the satellite issue. Regarding the tiles, the old tiles were deemed unfit for new installation, but we wanted to leave some behind just in case for the future. Unfortunately, we have not been able to get a hold of you to schedule the final cleanup and walkthrough. Our office has reached out via phone and email, but have been unsuccessful. Can you please call our office asap so we can get this scheduled? 714-790-1750 ext. 2 or email support@greencalinc.com. We want to address this right away. Thank you! - the GreenCal team

Violeta, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry for the frustration this process caused and acknowledge that communication during parts of the project could have been clearer and more consistent. Your system has been fully installed, and all required documentation has been submitted. The remaining steps, including final inspections, meter work, and Permission to Operate (PTO), are all handled by Southern California Edison. While we continue to track these items, utility timelines are not always predictable, which can understandably make the waiting period difficult. Financing disbursements follow the lender’s agreement (not the company) and standard industry procedures once installation milestones are met. We recognize that this can feel confusing when a system is not yet operational, and we regret any lack of clarity around those steps. We truly appreciate this feedback. It helps us improve how we guide homeowners through the final utility and activation phases, and we remain committed to seeing every project through to full PTO and system orientation. - the GreenCal Construction team

WARNING: CONSIDER ANOTHER COMPANY! I was very pleased with the presentation provided by Sales Rep/Project Consultant Masoud (had 3 other estimates/proposals). Project was scheduled to start in mid July. Received a call from Operations Mgr Crystal on Friday afternoon, June 28th, reporting a cancellation with an opportunity for an early start on Jul 1st. I should have known better! Was if the rushed start or do they commonly provide a sales pitch they have no plans to deliver on... My contract called for multiple things they did NOT provide. Examples... pre project walk thru/inspection with the assigned Project Manager (Juan), covering A/C condenser to protect from falling debris, gutter guards, clearing debris daily, wood inspection prior to start of roof install, 50 year GAF manufacturer's warranty certificate upon completion of installation. This is a partial list! I am still waiting for Project Manager Juan to complete the wood repair he started AFTER the roof was completed on July 3, 2024. Project Consultant Masoud no longer returns calls, too many negatives to list about Project Manager Juan requested call from the owner, Hazel Serrano weeks ago, no call. According to GAF (roofing system manufacturer), Greencal did NOT submit warranty registration per my contract. I could go on and on. If my project is an indicator of the service Greencal Construction might provide consider this a warning. Will update after the rainy season begins, hopefully the roof won't leak.

This was one of the worst experiences of owning a home for me. The project was supposed to take 5-7 days. I was told they might be able to do it while I was out of town. They could not get the permits for while I was out of town. LONG story short. They woke me up several times to pull from my power. (So they could not have done it while I was out of town) What they quoted me in wood repair was MORE than double what I was quoted. I asked if I needed anything for my solar panels, do they take care of our HOA, etc. Eddie and Masoud said I did not need anything and their company would contact our HOA. I got called for my solar panel plans-which I did not have. I had to go down to the city to try to get them-could not get them. It was a HUGE hassle. THEN, my HOA contacted me. I was out of compliance because no one contacted them AND GreenCal Construction was going door to door. Soliciting is not allowed in our community and it is posted at both entrances. This project took 4 weeks and cost me over $2000 more than what I was quoted. Crystal was amazing. She had to deal with me after Eddie and Masoud made the sail and stopped contacting me. If I had to do it over again, I would NOT go with this company.

We’re truly sorry to hear this project was a stressful experience for you. We understand how important clear communication, accurate timelines, and smooth coordination are, especially when it comes to a major investment like your roof. Roofing is one of the more disruptive home projects, so we try and mitigate these issues as best we can. While we work hard to plan for every detail, not all roofing projects are the same and some are more complex than others. Sometimes, once we remove the old shingles, we uncover hidden issues (like damaged wood) that we simply can’t see beforehand. In your case, more wood replacement was necessary to ensure your roof was structurally sound, up to code, and would last for years to come. We know this was an unexpected expense, which is why we provided a significant discount to help offset the additional cost. We also understand the HOA and solar plan challenges added to your frustration. To help, we went above and beyond by drawing up your solar plans at no charge (something we’ve never done before) to make the permitting process easier. We’re glad Crystal was able to support you through the process, and we regret any frustrations caused along the way. Your feedback will help us improve, and we sincerely appreciate you sharing your experience. Please reach out to our team if you have any additional questions: hello@greencalinc.com or 714-790-1750

While they did a good job on my roof the customer service was bad. I am a realtor and I used to have a wonderful roofer who retired. Greencal was highly recommended by a friend. There was issues with them getting permits at the beginning and at the end. I had an hvac company take off my hvac to the roof so the new roof could be properly sealed as I had leaks that could have come from the units platform. Greencal wanted the hvac to put the platform over the old roof composition shingle. I insisted on waiting till the old shingle was off and the new paper was put on. I was very confused on their thought process. When they took off the composition shingle and some old wood they didnt seal up the pipes to prevent debris going down the pipes. Debris did get inside and ruined my pump. I called and asked about this and greencal ignored me, it cost me over 500 to replace. When they took off the shingles there was wood damage. Instead of letting me know I just got a bill to fix the wood. No call just a bill. They had to take off solar panels to put the roof down. I was told it was a certain price per panel to remove and reattach. They surprised me by a bill for parts to reattach. It seemed high and when I asked for a breakdown again I was ignored. They ordered some wrong parts and I let them know to pick them up at my house and they never did. They are still sitting there. There were permits that my wife and I had to sign and we kept asking what we need to do with the paperwork and again I was ignored. Customer service is very important in my business and I expect the same in people I work with. Again the roof seems good but the customer service sucked.

Hi Blayne, Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're glad the final roof met your expectations, but we're sorry the experience fell short. This is obviously not up to par with our project standards. The permit delays were due to an LADBS clerical issue outside our control. We shared city correspondence with you to stay transparent throughout the process. Our owner, Hazel, even physically stopped by to inform you of these inconveniences and attempted to contact you via phone, but did not get a response. We do not typically coordinate with outside contractors, for we have our own teams. However, the HVAC contact kept reaching out to the sales rep and not the production team, even after we informed them to. We kept informing him to please update our production team, as the sales reps do not have any control over project scheduling. This led to a communication gap, and we are very sorry for the inconvenience this caused. This is definitely a lesson learned. We did explain the carpentry and solar-related charges, and our solar coordinator attempted to follow up several times to go over the details. We also weren’t aware materials were left behind, we’re sending someone to pick them up immediately and will void those related charges. We've since met with our production manager to improve communication and avoid similar issues in the future and to learn as a team. Your feedback is valued, and we appreciate the opportunity to complete your roof. Please let us know how we can mitigate further. My email is megan@greencalinc.com and I will do everything in my power to make this right. —Megan and the GreenCal team

Quite possibly the worst experience with a construction project ever. Flakey, not responsive and a project that should have taken a week or so took over 2 months. Workers would come once every 7-10 days, say they were coming and not show and we were lied to regularly. Took about 2 months to complete the roof. The workers also brought a child into our property regularly. Awful experience

    Reply from the business

Hi Carly, we are so sorry that you had this experience with us. It is never our intention for situations like these to happen with any of our clients. There was a lot of back and forth with your solar partner on the scope of work for this particular project, therefore, it was not as meticulously planned as usual. If you need anything at all please don't hesitate to reach out to us, we want to make this right. We hope you are happy with the final product. - Megan @ GreenCal

Nick was professional with his sales processes. It didn't feel pushy or pressured. I felt that he started with addressing my initial concerns with genuine care. I knew I needed a roof, price was reasonable, so I signed on on the first visit. After he left, we started considering additional insulation options to help our home be more efficient. He was patient with the process, didn't give me any push back when I suggested to postpone the job for 1-2 weeks to make sure I covered all my basis. He provided me with several insulation options and (what I felt) his honest opinion of what he would do if it was his home. He also pointed out some areas of concern on the facia that I had overlooked and we are moving forward with that as well. Looking forward at getting our new rood installed! Literally, "putting a roof over my family's head" :)

Rows of red tile roofs and palm-lined streets, this is classic Southern California living. 🌴 Tile roofing is popular across Los Angeles and Orange County for good reason. It holds up well in our heat, lasts for decades, and adds real character to a neighborhood. But even durable tile needs attention. Cracked or slipped tiles can let water reach the underlayment, which is where hidden damage starts. As a local roofing contractor, GreenCal Construction Inc. handles residential roofing on tile, shingle, and flat systems alike. If you have been searching for a roofing company near me, our roofer team starts every project with a thorough roof inspection so you know the true condition of your roof before any work begins. • Tile roof repair and replacement 🏠 • Underlayment and leak checks • Gutter and deck waterproofing support If your tile roof has not been checked in a while, late summer is a smart time to do it before cooler weather rolls in.
