I purchased a condo in Central Denver after the complex had hired Green Gables Roofing for two major capital improvement projects: painting and re-stuccoing the entire property, and earlier, replacing the roof on a section of the complex. …

I would love to speak with you. I even told your property manager, Aaron Walker, that I would love to speak with the board but would no longer communicate with him because he was dishonest. When notified of the one leak, we repaired it within 5 days. It was a minor issue. Aaron did not contact Green Gable regarding the leak prior to that. He sent a text to my personal phone and mentioned that he wanted to meet with me to discuss a leak when we were meeting the following week. To be honest, I don't recall the details, but he did not contact the office and no further mention was made regarding the leak until much later. Once the office was called we repaired it. It was a membrane surrounding a vent cover that had not adhered. It was a quick and simple fix. Aaron had already had 2 other contractors, who knew nothing about historic tile or it's installation process, walk all over that roof, damaging a lot of tiles we had recently installed. Aaron had previously worked well with us until he asked for a job as a project manager at Green Gable. When we refused to hire him, his entire demeanor toward Green Gable shifted. Suddenly, we were an"terrible" company. The installation was correct. Ludowici tiles of that specific type do not require a batten system. In fact, it is not recommended. Secondly, your HOA agreed that we would not replace flashings unless they were no longer viable. This was a cost savings measure. Your project manager created this problem. We have been faithful to our contract and warranty. The "experts" that damaged your roof during their inspection were obviously not experts on this tile. It's highly unlikely that they had ever worked with historic Ludowici tile. I am still happy to speak with the board regarding these issues. I simply told Aaron that I would no longer speak with him because his false allegations and attitude toward my company after we wouldn't hire him. We literally saved your HOA hundreds of thousands of dollars by painstakingly

I'm currently dissatisfied by the work green gable did on my roof. Update to response: you replaced our roofs in a joint hoa and caused 2 new leaks which has disturbed asbestos and damaged hvac equipment and attempted to repair a existing leak and wasn't fixed farther disturbing asbestos.

Colin, thank you for providing a little more information. I'm still not sure what project you are describing but if you are talking about a project that has asbestos tiles on the roof, then I am aware of this issue. We have not performed any repairs on the asbestos tiles. We did perform some repairs on the flat roof but we believe that a larger abatement and repair is necessary in the section containing asbestos tiles. A simple phone call to our office could clarify what you are talking about and provide the necessary information to alleviate your concerns. Leaving vague reviews with limited information doesn't really solve anything. I understand your frustration and will work to provide a solution if you would simply call the office to discuss the issue. Thank you.

Overall the project was a nightmare. This company was referred by Allstate, the claim was made due to a roof leak, which caused water damage to the ceiling and wall inside. Shortly after making the claim they showed up at the house to get started on the dry out. Steve showed up routinely to check on the dry out process, and eventually to do the demo portion. That portion was quick and efficient, the rest was completely opposite, like pulling teeth to get anything done. The communication was one of the biggest issues, telling us they'd be there on a Wednesday between 10-noon, then not showing up at all and then the office apologizing saying they thought it was scheduled for Thursday. Communication on their end with each other was also very poor, having workers show up who hadn't worked on the project and were unfamiliar with any materials they needed before showing up. There's not enough time to list all of the communication issues, but there was one day where they told us they'd arrive between 8-10am, but they didn't show until 11. When the guy showed up at 11, he stuck around for 10 minutes making notes about what materials he'd need, and then didn't show back up until after 3pm. My girlfriend and I had to take multiple days off of work, at least 6 days between us, for this job to be completed. That alone cost us more than the entire project. There was never an insurance adjuster who came to look at my damage, and I don't believe that Green Gable did a good job capturing the entire scope of the damage. I had another contractor over shortly after the job was complete, and he doesn't believe the job was done to code. In the areas that the drywall was removed, there was no insulation between the drywall and the exterior wall, and when they completed the job they didn't put any insulation up. I have code upgrade coverage in my insurance policy, so I am having it looked into to see if it all needs to be redone properly. This job obviously was a nightmare, so I got the p

This customer lives with Shelby Flinn (who also left a nasty review). I personally spoke with this customer and offered him money back due to the fact that we had to reschedule on a couple occasions. Primarily he didn't understand why everything couldn't happen all within a day or so because the damage was so small. His experience is as a window salesman who had just become a roofing salesperson with a competitor of ours. After explaining the difference in restoration vs simple installs or hiring a single trade subcontractor to install shingles on a roof I thought we had come to an understanding. It appears that wasn't the case. Having the ability to leave a negative review is a good thing for anyone searching for the overall quality of a company but when you insist on grossly exaggerating the facts and leaving multiple negative reviews just to damage a competitor then it seems to be less than honest. That is what occurred here.

Will never recommend this company to anyone. This whole process was absolutely atrocious. Not only did it take over 2 months to complete a 100sqft project, but when we started demanding a deadline for the project to be met, they still were two weeks behind. We had to take off multiple days to be at the house to meet them and every single time they were multiple hours late. I could have been at my office during that time they just didn't show up and would have saved me the hassle of having to ask my manager for another day off. It got so bad that we had to get the owner's number from a contractor to tell him how displeased we were because it was clear the office wasn't relaying how furious we were. Scheduling was awful. Communication was awful. Don't even get me started on customer service. Every time a group of contractors came out, it was a different group who had to be brought up to speed by us. The end result of the project was fine, but I grew grey hairs over communicating with this company who put all the blame on lack of staff and resources due to COVID. Not our problem. We asked for a discount and they still charged us full price. While some was covered by insurance, we still switched insurance companies because what reputable company recommends Green Gable. Do not do business with this company. Save yourself the time, money and stress.

That's a scathing review with some exaggerations for sure. We went to the site on several occasions as we performed some work and had to wait for things like paint to dry prior to moving on to the next part of the project, or materials to become available. When dealing with multiple parts of the same project it's not uncommon to see different people who perform different duties within our company. As the owner of the company I can assure you that they were provided a discount. They did provide some valuable feedback regarding scheduling and we have made some adjustments accordingly. I spoke with her husband regarding the process for approximately an hour one evening, about which he had some confusion as he is a new roofing salesman for another company and thought interior work would be performed the same way, by simply hiring a subcontractor to perform the work in a day. That's not how we operate, and interior work is very different than a simple roof replacement. Although I believe their review to be extreme, I do know we could have performed our scheduling better, which is why we provided a discount on a project we completed with good final results.

Very disappointed with Green Gable. Giving them two stars since initially they were fast and responsive when I had to file an insurance claim due to some water damage. They got all the equipment in to dry out the basement and other areas that were damaged (including ripping out ceiling, etc). After that, however, it was a nightmare. They kept rescheduling the jobs to finish the work (I think in total the job took like three months for them to fully complete and it wasn't that big of a job... maybe 2-3k in total costs and I had a hole in two ceilings of my house for a good two months waiting for them), the first painter they sent painted the ceiling two different colors, their painting work at the edges of the ceiling are inadequate and clearly show they didn't put two coats of paint along the edges.

    Reply from the business

We kept rescheduling because we would arrive at the agreed upon time and he would tell us we would have to come at another time because he was busy teaching children or because they had a newborn and didn't want the fumes of new paint in his home. On one occasion he told us we had 2 hours to finish the entire job including cleanup or we'd have to reschedule because he had family coming... so we rescheduled to accommodate him. We strive to finish jobs as quickly as possible because we have lingering expenses that must be paid which are tied to any job. We cannot get final payment until the job is complete. We would not intentionally reschedule for months and leave ourselves without pay for months on end. The original paint match was inaccurate after it dried so we did send our people out a second time to paint his ceiling.

Green Gable Roofing & Exteriors Company represented my insurance company to perform an assessment of damages to my roof. I do not know if their responsibility was to perform a quick, limited inspection or not. Their assessment did not worth the cost of my time and wasted air. My insurance brought their own adjuster to assess the damages and to see for themselves the extent of my damages. My insurance adjuster assessed the damages to be nearly $10K compared to Green Gable Roofing & Exteriors' estimate of under $500.00!! Maybe there was a mistake or am I missing something here? I would appreciate this company to provide me with an explanation to several questions: 1) Why did your estimate came in abysmally low?; 2) Did you simply performed a limited visual inspection for the insurance company to determine that my roof was damages?; 3) How did you come up with that number?; 4) Was this number based on the cost of service to the insurance company for reimbursement of your time?; and 5)Would you care to explain your relationship with the insurance company and describe what level of service you were contracted to perform? I have hired a contractor and their estimate came in a bit above the insurance company adjuster. I am a bit confused.

    Reply from the business

We are happy to explain. Perhaps you could contact the office and simply ask to speak with the inspector. It sounds like the inspector determined that you had minor damage which could easily be repaired. Generally speaking, insurance companies do not wish to pay to replace an entire roof when the damage is so minor that it can be repaired. We provide honest assessments and do not simply try to convince customers that their roof always has to be replaced. In this case it sounds like an adjuster chose to have the insurance company pay to replace the entire roof. That is a judgement call that they have the prerogative to make in your favor. Regarding our relationship with insurance companies, we have a great reputation for being honest. We performed your inspection for free. If we saw enough damage to justify a full replacement and believed that the insurance company would pay for it we would have told you and provided an estimate similar to what you received from the insurance company and the contractor who estimated for your roof replacement. Frankly, it's in our financial best interest when a roof is totaled and are quick to provide customers with that information. Again, in your case, the adjuster seems to have been feeling very generous. I have answered your questions below: 1) The estimate was for the repair of the damage on your roof vs an entire replacement. 2) We provide honest and thorough inspections on behalf of the homeowner. 3) By assessing the cost of the repair to put your roof back into pre-damage condition. 4) We received no compensation for providing this service to you other than your 1 star review. I want to point out here that having your entire roof replaced when it is not necessary it's not something that the average customer is looking for. The average customer is looking for honest assessments. There are times when insurance companies will pay to purchase a roof even when it is not necessary. They do this in order to keep customers happy. Howe

Green Gables came out to take pictures and provide the estimate to my insurance company. Not only did the estimator Deserae fail to do so, I had to follow up numerous times with others in the company to complete the estimate. I was told Deserae was out sick, but regardless they never communicated with me or anyone else. I ended up having to use a separate roofing company's pictures to complete the estimate. Green Gables cost me over two weeks of delay in my project as well as many hours of phone calls.

Deserae came out as the inspector for insurance. She took few pictures saying that is all that would be needed to turn into the insurance company, and she would put full need of repairs in writing to insurance. The insurance company then would only pay for repairs for what was in the photos she sent in (they need photo evidence). I went with green gable to do repairs they should know what need to be done they inspected it . They use lower quality material than what I original had just to make the price they quoted. when they do damage on the drywall inside the house (replaced sky lights) they fix it by putting a piece of trim over it to hide the missing drywall. getting this much took three calls I gave up on getting it done right. then they were to replace trim on the out side of house and window screens. the locking tabs on the screens where ether bent or lost when they removed them the replacement screen material was installed with out stretching it like it should, The trim material they used does not match the rest of the trim and is like pressed cardboard. I do not recommend using this company unless you get the exact material to be used in writing. then sit there and watch and document all the damage they do and get it in writing that they will fix it not just cover it up.

It is rare when we will disagree so vehemently with a customer after work has been completed. Here, we will. Des took a lot of photos. In fact our file has 258 photos for Mr Fahrenbrunch. We put everything in writing and he agreed to materials used. Our contract shows the exact materials for which we have a receipt for or this job and the project was completed using those materials. We upgraded his skylight at no charge to him. While removing the original skylight, some of the drywall was damaged because the original skylight was improperly installed. We did use trim to repair it but he was unsatisfied. Without question we replaced the trim using trim he had agreed to. Regarding the rest of the trim which we replaced around the house, it was an exact match and approved by the homeowner. We also contracted to re-screen 15 screens per the contract. We actually screened 17 (2 additional at no charge). Afterward, he insisted that we had agreed to build 5 more screens in addition to the work we had completed. When we refused, due to the fact that we had done more than agreed to already, he gave us this review. I am disappointed that we were unable to please him but we cannot continue to give away more and more free service to simply avoid a threat of a "bad review." We perform quality work at a reasonable price using quality materials. Free upgrades and additional work to provide customer satisfaction is not uncommon for us. However, knowing the value of what we provide requires us to actually charge for work performed in order to continue to do quality work for our appreciative customers. 🙂

Great roofing company. We had Green Gable come out to check our roof after the big wind storm. We had them come and do our roof repair, and while they were here, Joshua repaired another small issue we had with our chimney. Great customer service! Scheduling was easy and we had good communication with their office staff. We will definitely use them again!
