Would avoid Cal-Pac roofing. We have been plagued by issues directly tied to substandard workmanship, the job was anything but "professional." Instead, what I got was rushed, careless labor with no attention to quality or long-term durability.

    Reply from the business

I have no idea who this person is. We never rush a job.

Exceptional Quality, Best Value, and Top-Notch Professionalism - Highly Recommended! Finding the right roofing contractor can be overwhelming, but after getting quotes from ten different companies, choosing Cal-Pac Roofing was the absolute best decision we made. I am self-admittedly a perfectionist with very high standards, and Cal-Pac exceeded my expectations in every single way. Our choice was deeply inspired by a real-world test of time: our neighbor's Cal-Pac roof was installed back in 1996 (30 years ago!) and still looks brand new today. In contrast, our own shingle roof, installed in 1998, had already deteriorated severely. Seeing that difference firsthand made us choose a Stone-Coated Metal Roof. Years ago, while renting, we also happened to experience Cal-Pac replacing the roof for our landlord. I was amazed by their thoroughness--they cleaned up the yard impeccably every day, worked efficiently, and stayed incredibly organized. Having now hired them for our own home, I can confirm their teamwork is unmatched: The Tear-off Crew: Swiftly removed and disposed of all old materials, leaving the property spotless. The Delivery Team: Handled materials with extreme care, staging almost everything directly on the roof so our front yard stayed clear. The Gutter Team: Custom-fabricated and installed seamless gutters around the entire house in just about three hours! The Roofing Crew: Their craftsmanship in cutting and installing every piece of stone-coated metal was flawless. I was amazed that a premier Bay Area company with decades of experience could offer such a competitive price within our budget--especially using top-tier materials, from the best underlayments to premium stone-coated metal. A special thanks to Tom, the CEO. His leadership is phenomenal. On his very first visit, he arrived with computer-generated roof diagrams, calculated the exact area, and provided a precise quote on the spot (unlike other companies that took days). Dealing directly wit

My neighbors recommended CAL-PAC Roofing to me. Tom and team did a great job replacing my roof. Tom was super responsive throughout. His team were friendly and professional. When they were done, things looked nice and clean, the roof looked great. They timely responded to and addressed every point that I brought to them during the project, for example, installing a deflector, replacing sections of rotten rafters, etc. Thanks!

I am so happy with my new roof! I chose Cal-Pac because a neighbor recommended them. My main contact was Tom Sparling and he was easy to reach if I had any questions and he had a great team of roofers. They left my place immaculate and I would highly recommend them!! great job!

On Feb 4, 2024 we had a vicious storm. Winds were said to have gusts up to 70MPH. We live next to a city park with 6 85' Pine trees 2' from our property line. Well, at 11AM the top 1/3 of one of those trees came crashing down onto the roof putting 2 holes in the metal roof and one end came thru the ceiling of the entry way. The Milpitas Fire Dept came out and sealed the holes the best they could and put a tarp up. I called Tom at Cal-Pac and he sent Brian out to do a temporary fix. The fix worked....no leeks. It took a while to get into the que for the permanent repair but once that time came Brian and crew came out, spent 3 days on the repair. I'm happy to say that the job was complete on Monday the 11th. I can't say enough about the team, their knowledge and hard work. And, btw, had it not been a metal roof that tree would have been in my living room I'm sure along with a red tag which means not habitable.

I can't say enough about this company. Some years ago we had a total roof replacement that we were very happy with. The team from Cal Pac Roofing was so great to work with. But recently, due to our "atmospheric rivers" of rain that we have been experiencing, we found some issues with the roof that were causing some leaks. So stressful. Tom and his team were there to help, fixed the problem and again, were so professional and caring. I would highly recommend them for any roofing issues you may have.

Recent engagement for gutter cleaning and new filter installation was impeccable in all of the qualities mentioned above. Also included was a metal tile roof tune up....again, unquestionable quality. The main source of this overall first class project was Brian Korens' attitude, tech skills, and people skills. He made it a positive event and an end to end successful and enjoyable project supported by professional administrative business help and planning from Tom Sparling....Thanks!

Out of several companies that bid on repairing my roof leak, Brian Korens of Cal-Pac Roofing was the only one who had a clue. All of the other estimators were like, "well, we can't tell exactly what the problem is, but we'll do ___ and see if that fixes it." Brian was like, "oh, yeah, I've seen this a few times before, here's what's going on." Cal-Pac's bid was much higher than the other companies, but I thought it was worth it to get someone who knew what they were doing — and I wasn't disappointed. To be clear, Cal-Pac didn't show up with the impressive company-liveried truck or the uniformed workers or the fancy glossy brochures. It's clearly a smaller operation — and we all know, those can only stay in business by being really good. Brian and his helper worked on my house for eight full days, fixing the leak, replacing the gutters, replacing some rotted beams, and fixing up all of the other problems that I hadn't even noticed yet. They did an awesome job.

We love our new roof. Tom was wonderful to work with from the beginning. From outreach to quote to contract to completion, it was a painless process. Our new Boral Barrel Vault roof is beautiful. Thanks Tom and team!

We had a wooden shake roof that needed to be replaced. After studying various roofing materials like asphalt, Davinci Rubber and stone coated metal, we went with the last choice. Stone coated metal offers a good look, proven reliability, longevity and fire proof. There are not alot of stone coated metal roof installers here in the south bay, and we compared most of them. Cal-Pac offered a good deal plus their history/experience was enough for us to choose them. Tom, the owner, was friendly, honest and informative. His crew of 3 did a great job. It took about 6 days and they did a good clean up job also. His employees were friendly and respectful. The final look is outstanding, almost like a new home.

It was a real pleasure working with Tom and his crew. Tom was with us from the beginning of the project to the end always quick to answer calls or e-mails and answer any questions we had. The crew worked well in taking off and putting on the new roof. There was no mess to clean up afterwards and they worked quickly and efficiently. A year after the roof had been installed and there was a rat in the attic (which is very common in this area), Tom sent out two of his crew to first set traps and then put up screening where it was necessary. He did this at no additional cost to us. I have recommended the metal roof to many of my friends and only Cal-Pac because of their friendliness, efficiency and good work!

Many thanks to Tom and his crew for doing such a great job on our roof, completed between rain showers! We contacted Calpac and a few other roofers when we had a leak and Tom’s bid was extremely reasonable, especially given the metal roof has a life expectancy of 50 years. Sal was able to patch our leak until they had a window to do a full tear off and re-roof. Tom dropped off a sample of the Boral steel material for us to see before we finalized our choice to make sure it matched well with the house. The final product looks beautiful- lots of interesting texture and matches perfectly. You would never know from the outside that it is metal. Sal and his team were hard working, careful, courteous, and meticulous. They were able to coordinate bracket installation with my solar installer, and made sure to remount our antenna. We now have improved air flow in the attic, and a significantly lower home insurance premium due to the fire-resistance and Class 4 hail impact resistance. We couldn’t be happier.
