  Best Choice Roofing Installed my roof in February of 2023 and has failed to honor the warranty and will not even call me back. Below is the timeline of ebvents. July 15th 2026 I noticed a crack in the ceiling above my kitchen sink, roughly 5 inches long. Called Best Choice Roofing in Rock Hill, SC and was told someone would get back to me. Later that day I got a call from Thomas Perez and he said he would have someone come out to inspect that evening. That evening someone came to inspect the roof. They confirmed that it was in fact a water leak and also noticed some discoloration of the caulking near the crack and said that that is also an indication of water. They did an inspection of the roof taking pictures. The inspector told me that the leak was either coming from the vent pipe for the sink or the siding. Along with that he said there were multiple nail pops that needed to be addressed and said I would be contacted. July 17th - I called Thomas and was told that he had not looked at the report yet and to call him back in a few days. I also informed him that I found another dark spot in the caulking next to the stove exhaust hood. July 20th – I called Thomas back and was told that he needed to come and inspect the roof with a roofer later that day and no one showed up. July 21st – I called Thomas back, got some excuse and was asked to call back on Friday the 24th. July 24th – I had my contractor at the house. Showed him the leak and he said that it was not likely coming from the siding, but the leak was most likely coming from the vent pipes, the 1 for the sink and the other for the exhaust hood for the stove.. July 24th – I called Thomas and he set an appointment for Saturday the 25th between 10am-1pm. I told him about what the contractor had said about the leak. July 25 - At 1:15 I called and left a message because no one showed up. July 27th – I called Thomas back and got more excuses why they did not show up and set a tentative appointment for the

  I regret using best choice. They tore some aluminum flashing in some places and reinstalled my gutter guards completely wrong. Jason, the so called GM, seemed incompetent. He showed up to look at some of my concerns and didn’t even bring a ladder. He did that twice and then completely lied about having come back to make it right. He didn’t know I have cameras and could tell they never showed up. I would never use best choice roofing nor would I recommend them to anyone I know.

  I don’t doubt the quality of work that is done physically repairing roofs. I will say, however, that inspectors should really be officially certified/ licensed before being allowed to perform roof inspections. Furthermore, the business encourages some less than admirable tactics of finding work, whether it be ignoring “no soliciting” notices, taking pictures of homes without permission, attempting to push a sale on someone clearly not interested, getting on roofs without verbal permission, knocking on doors at super early hours, and general “loitering” in neighborhoods. I understand that your workers are on commission, but have some respect for the neighborhoods you send them to.
