Chea and his crew did a great job on our home roofing project and were able to remove our chimney and fill in the floor and wall holes that were left behind. The new roof looks great and we are very happy with the results. They were also able to connect us with other contractors to get new gutters and a new paint job for the house.

Flat roofs are more common in Campbell River and across Vancouver Island than many homeowners realize — not just on commercial buildings, but on carports, additions, low-slope sections of residential homes, and modern architectural designs. And they require a fundamentally different approach to waterproofing than pitched roofs. A pitched roof sheds water through gravity. A flat roof holds it. That means the waterproofing membrane, drainage design, and installation quality are everything. At Beauchemin Roofing Ltd., we specialize in flat roofing systems that are designed and installed to handle BC's demanding rainfall. Here's what you need to know: Membrane matters. Modern flat roofing systems use high-quality membranes — TPO, EPDM, or modified bitumen — that are far more durable than older built-up tar-and-gravel systems. The right choice depends on your specific application, climate exposure, and budget. Drainage is critical. Even a small amount of improper slope can lead to standing water (called "ponding"), which accelerates membrane deterioration and adds structural load. We design every flat roofing system with drainage as the priority. Flashing and edge detail. Most flat roof failures happen at edges, penetrations, and transitions — not in the field of the membrane. Chea Beauchemin brings 30 years of experience to the details that make the difference between a flat roof that leaks and one that lasts.
