We had them inspect our roof after a hail storm. We were told there is roof damage and we need to file a claim. They were notified what time the insurance adjuster would be there. Universal builders said they would be there but were a no show.

Beware! Their laborers were throwing the old soffit off my roof and scratched my car(under a cover parked in my neighbors driveway) admitting their guilt and owning up I wasn’t terribly mad at the time ( hoping they would’ve fixed it)submitted and estimate from a shop and never heard back. called for months hearing the same, oh I’ll get with management and they will contact you. Well..never heard back, my roof leaks and my car 1 year later still hasn’t been fixed. Since they won’t own up then hopefully my review saves someone else the hassle

At this time our company is working with a mediator and legal counsel to settle this dispute with Ms. Fidgeon as amicably as possible. Feedback is critical in upholding businesses practices and we value that. It is our hope that through mediation and legal proceedings the facts of the dispute will be cleared up.

Avoid this company. Their solicitors go through neighborhoods offering "free" inspection of roof. When told there is no solicitation allowed in the township, they refuse to leave. This person swore at me repeatedly when I told her I was calling the Sheriff.

Poor management and logistics. Incapable of ordering the proper material for a job or ordering anywhere near the correct amount! Waste a lot of time dealing with unnecessary returns, aka take offs, because they ordered the wrong items or ordered twice the amount they needed. That time could be better spent dealing with customers that actually know what they're doing and what material they need. If you don't know how to measure a house, either learn, find another area of business to work in, or waste someone else's time.

We had universal come out and do a roof, siding, and gutters after a bad hail storm. They left over twice the recommended over hang on the shingles which can result in wind damage. The drip edge they installed looks like absolute garbage. They are constantly calling and telling us that they want a progress payment when they won’t come address the poor craftsmanship that they gave us. Our shingles are sagging from the excessive over hang and they are trying to tell us that is the proper way to install them, even though on the Owens Corning website it says 1/4” to 3/4”. Clearly they don’t know that the extra inch they have on there can cause problems. If you have a problem with their work like we are hopefully you have better luck getting in contact with them.

I called to get an estimate and this company couldnt even do that. John (estimator) is a shady untruthful estimator who is not there to help people. He has now cost me getting my house fixed due to the time elapsed. No idea how this company has a bbb rating. They are horrible use with extreme caution.

Universal Builders as a company was great but the subcontractors they used on our job were horrible. They did roofing & Siding ! The siding was half done when we discovered the Tyvek Homewrap they were supposed to put up firsts was rolled out beside the house and being used to dump trash on. They had to remove it all and wrap the house and start all over. Then the 2 ridge vents on the main house were put on backwards and the ends left open. The guy from Universal removed that and fixed it . The garage roof was pretty much finished when I was able to capture images from our security cameras of them putting flashing material over rotten wood and covering it up with the underlay. Needless to say they had to removed the entire new roof and replace 8 sheet of 4x8 plywood. This after Universal sent a guy out to inspect my complaint . Then they had to come back and finish caulking around the windows and window seals, the seals were left totally uncaulked where water would have gotten under the new wraps causing wood rot ! I have plenty of pictures to proves all I have stated. What upsets me the most is what these subs are doing to our elderly population. I asked Universal to provide me the names of all subs used to I could write local reviews on them but Universal would not provide me that information. The one contractor point blank told us to our face when we confronted them about the Tyvek " We never use that " Makes one wonder what type work they've done to other home owners !!!

We can’t say enough good things about all of the people at Universal Builders who we dealt with. Our roof replacement hit a couple of snags, but Universal Builders made sure that everything was done and done correctly. And everyone there was always polite and professional. We highly recommend this company.

The recent weather conditions in Ohio resulted in substantial damage to my roof. I was concerned about potential internal damage to my residence. Sy and his team promptly assessed the situation, provided a comprehensive overview of the damage, and assured me of a timely resolution. Not only did they complete the roof repairs within an impressive timeframe, but their professionalism, efficiency, and reassuring demeanor were also exceptional. The quality of their work was outstanding, exceeding my expectations. I would undoubtedly award them a rating higher than five stars if possible. I highly recommend their services.
