Paul John and Son did some repair work to my slate roof and installed new copper gutters on my entire house. They did a great job! They were easy to communicate with throughout the project, their budget proposal was accurate and honored (even though they ended up doing some additional unexpected work for us), their team on site was very professional and nice to work with, and the finished project looks and functions great!

This company was great from estimate to finish. The materials/dumpster was delivered day before. The crew worked like a well-oiled machine to replace our roof, in one day. Clean-up was amazing. Next day dumpster was removed. Came after to …

VERY responsive, reasonably priced, and clearly professional at their work. I also appreciate that I never got the 'run around' from dopey bots when I contacted them.

Nelson Dasilva and his crew, of Paul John and Son Roofing, did a first-rate job fixing several leaks in the roof caused by animals seeking warmth against the heavy snow. He responded quickly to a Sunday text when we discovered the leak. He came to the house first-thing Monday morning--by then the leak had temporarily stopped due to the cold temps--and the roof was repaired by Tuesday afternoon. This was not the first quick rescue in our history with him. Nelson did our entire roof five years ago and did a fabulous job. Beyond the excellent work, he and his crew are easy to work with, friendly, professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy. We would hire and recommend him in an instant.

Kathryn, I'm so glad you called me when this happened. It means a lot to me, that kind of trust isn't something I take for granted. Leaks are always a priority for me and I'll move things around to get there soon as possible. I'm grateful you've trusted me with your home and I'll always be here when you need me.

Paul John & Son put a new roof on our house in Winchester in May 2025. High quality work - roof looks great - job completed on time - reasonable cost - also good people. Highly recommend!

Brian, thank you for the kind review and the recommendation. I really enjoyed working on your home in Winchester last spring. I can't believe it's almost been a year since we installed your new roof. This year I started doing complimentary one-year follow-up inspections on every new roof we install. I'll reach out in May to get yours set up. I already have it on my schedule to call you.

Nelson from Paul John and Son Roofing repaired my leaking slate roof located in Reading, Ma. The estimate was very fair and timely to get the job done. Nelson and his partner repaired the leaking area plus other areas that needed attention. They cleaned up the area very well before they left and I was very satisfied with the work performed and would highly recommend them for any slate replacement or repair required for your home.

I highly recommend Nelson and his team, especially for complex projects. We had a challenging situation involving a leak of our rubber roof located beneath our roof deck. The developers of our condo in Somerville (prior to us purchasing it) did not install the roof properly - with the flashing only extending to the edge of that room leading to the roof deck. Nelson’s team quickly identified the root cause and handled it flawlessly. They carefully disassembled and preserved the deck, removed the damaged materials, and repaired the underlying sheathing. I was incredibly impressed by their attention to detail to ensure we wouldn’t have future leaks. They installed a new tapered foam underlayment to properly pitch the roof and divert water around the top room structure, and went above and beyond by double-flashing all corners and penetrations. Once the roof was fully watertight, Billy on his team, amazingly reinstalled the deck, replaced any compromised framing, and finished everything beautifully with new aluminum flashing and white trim boards. To top it off, they kept the job site exceptionally clean throughout the entire project. The work was on the third floor, and they managed access entirely from the exterior using ladders from our driveway across multiple decks—without ever needing to enter the house. Fantastic craftsmanship and true professionalism from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Allan, I really appreciate you taking the time to write such a detailed review. Projects like yours are the ones I enjoy most, finding what got missed and making it right. Billy was proud of that one too. Glad the roof is performing the way it should.

They were great to work with -- friendly and responsive. We had a leak around our chimney and Nelson reflashed it, sending photos and keeping in touch with us since we were away for a few weeks when the work was being done. They did very high quality work. Highly recommended!

Brandon, I really appreciate you taking the time to write this. I'm so glad the photo updates helped. I know having work done while you're away is uncomfortable. I wanted to make sure you stayed in the loop. Don't hesitate to reach out if you ever need anything.

We were referred to Paul John and Son Roofing a couple of months ago when we discovered a leak in our roof. They got back to us very quickly, came to the house a day or two later, and identified the problem. It was fixed within a week and has been trouble-free since. They were very responsive and professional. We will definitely call them the next time we have a roofing issue. Highly recommended!

Phil, thank you for leaving a review! Word of mouth means everything. Our standard is to find the leak, fix it, and have it done right the first time. Appreciate you, and we're here if you ever need us. - Nelson

Custom copper wall cladding in progress on a Boston rooftop. Each panel shop formed in our Woburn fabrication shop then installed.
