  I reached out to this company to inquire about roofing options and pricing. Not only did they refuse to provide any quote or pricing details, but the employee I spoke with made it clear I was wasting his time. Extremely unprofessional and dismissive — if this is how they treat potential customers, I can’t imagine what working with them would be like. I’ll be looking elsewhere. Update to your reply: Thanks for responding. I understand that you have policies around quotes and site visits — that’s completely fair. My issue wasn’t with the policy itself, but with the way it was communicated. The interaction felt dismissive, and it left a really poor impression. A clear and respectful explanation up front would have made all the difference.

  Poor workmanship over priced never fixed their mistake. Waited until my roof was striped to tell me the job needed all new plywood to do the job right.

  Tried to rip off my poor 75 year old father. Quoted him $15,500 to fix a leaky roof! Yes, $15,500! Tried to get him to refinance his house to pay for it!! The next company quoted $3,000.

  One of the worst roofing companies in the Maritimes. Over priced and poor quality. We definitely learned our lesson going with this company. Don’t make the mistake we did and shop around first (Reddit is great for real time advice!). Five Star ripped us off and we have since had the work reviewed by contractors who have said it is some of the worst quality roofing they have ever seen. We are now out 7 grand and our roof is still leaking.. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

  They dont pick up after themselves, we had our roof done 2 years ago by them and over half the shingles fell off came back yesterday (after complaining for almost a year about warranty) went outside this morning and they left their mess on the side of my house along with a ladder not very professional if you ask me at least clean up your mess!

  BEWARE...... Quote was ridiculous and this company tried to take advantage of a situation after a major storm. All other quotes from other companies for exact same job were all 75% less than Five Star Roofing...... will never call this company again.

  My wife and I hired Five Star to repair the metal roof on our house. They have been nothing but professional, prompt and courteous. Their communication has been excellent and pretty much dead on with what the issues might be. I have worked in the trades and these guys are miles ahead of most. I would not hesitate to refer them to anyone.

  Needed small piece of roofing to complete heat pump weather cover and they were very patient and helpful. When finished realized I should have ordered 2 inches longer to provide better drip pattern. Would recommend for future projects.

  It was so refreshing to deal with a great company and great employees. They were professional, courteous and efficient. They made our experience a very pleasant one indeed.   This company is beyond compare! Responded to my weekend call soon after business resumed on Tuesday morning. Met with estimator early Tuesday afternoon, signed the contract and had it approved by insurance company all within 24 hours. Absolutely incredible service. I understand the service business and this company and its representatives met and exceeded my expectations. Jason Patterson's crew started Saturday morning, were then delayed by weather but returned promptly Sunday morning to complete the job. One of the major concerns home owners have is their roof and Five Star quickly removed that concern. I am so happy that I chose Five Star and will recommend this company to my neighbours should they require roof repairs. Thanks again to John, Linda and Jason's crew. You are all incredible!   We had lost several shingles and some damage to our roof due to hurricane Fiona and when I called they showed up the next day and gave me an estimate and then the following day they repaired our roof. Great service at a time we needed a n emergency fix.

  We recently used Five-Star to replace our flat, torched bitumen roof and to rebuild a crumbling brick chimney. They also properly re-flashed all around our several skylights (one of which had leaked) and stack pipes. Ron (Nickerson) took the time to meet with us on several occasions to explain what was needed, and how they would go about the work, and he was available throughout to answer questions and check on the progress of the work. During the work, once the old roofing material had been removed, it was discovered that some additional minor repairs of some rotten wood, next to some (already known) rotten fascia, also needed replacing. They took care of it. Since we have solar panels on the roof, that had not been properly installed many years ago, they also found and made arrangements with a company specializing in solar panel systems to come and decommission and move them, then put new footings on top of the roof, and sealed them, so that the panels could be reinstalled correctly. Really appreciated Ron's approach and forthrightness, and felt like we were in good, knowledgeable hands. Would use them again.

  Very professional, and the speed of the job blew me away. They showed up earlier than expected, and finished earlier than I expected! Completely cleaned up afterwards, and even cleaned the gutters in the back and cut away tree branches near the roof.

  When we needed a roof repair they were there the same day to make sure we didn't get wet. Then they worked with us to make sure the job was done right. Everyone from the people on site to the people in the office made the experience something I can feel good about.

  Excellent service from the first phone call to the final nail. Brenda, John and Jason were all outstanding to deal with, and the roofing crew did a great job. Very pleased with everything, would certainly recommend Five Star.
