TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!!! Guys did a roof for us in Blue Island on July 27 2026 after a few week delay because of rain. Ironically they chose to do the job on a day with a complete downpour of rain and tornado warnings going off. Water leaked EVERYWHERE and got on EVERYTHING and completely saturated the carpet as well as the new mattress. Got on the tv, the sound bar, the ps5 and all my books. I was able to collect around about 10 gallons of water in buckets and pans but could only do so much. Was told they make things right but have not heard from these guys. It's almost been 1 month! What an absolute TERRIBLE company with TERRIBLE management who has NOT made things right at all. I would highly consider getting your roof done by another company who is capable of making smart decisions or at the very least not do the job on a day where there is a severe rainstorm. We live in a time where you can easily identify a day within the week that it's not going to storm but these guys at "EXPERT ROOFING" have trouble with that sorta thing. What a joke company.

Could not get anyone to come to my house to give a quote. Called on a Tuesday and was told I would be called back in a few days to schedule. I did not get a call back. I called on the following Friday morning and was told the same thing. It is Wednesday evening now and I have not gotten a call back. Probably not fair that I am rating when I did not actually get a service, but a business should not tell a customer that they will be called back in a few days, and then not contact the customer for >48 business hours. If they are too busy, they should tell me it's going to be a week or so.

Beware!!!! I hired Expert Roofing to address a future concern on my roof’s valley. Instead, they cut into it and caused a major leak, resulting in significant damage to my apartments. I lost a tenant due to the damage. They then sent a sub contractor out in a small compact car when i was thought not to be around to apply a rubber sealant in 2- 5 gallon buckets. Which caused even more damage to my tenants brand new truck with over spray. I never agreed to the rubber sealant and that was not the repair that i was quoted. When I refused to pay for their incomplete and damaging work, they sued me. I paid for a permit which they never applied for and it was never inspected. Horrible company!!!

This property had a documented history of recurring roof leaks long before our company was hired. During the course of the project, we repeatedly advised the owner that a repair was only a temporary solution and that a full roof replacement was the appropriate long-term fix. The owner chose to proceed with the less expensive repair option despite our recommendations. As with any repair on an aging roof system, we explained that repairs cannot guarantee the elimination of future leaks, particularly when the underlying roof has experienced repeated failures. This was communicated throughout the project. When additional concerns were reported, we made numerous attempts to contact the property owner by phone, email, and written correspondence to inspect the roof and perform any additional work that may have been necessary. Unfortunately, those attempts went unanswered, preventing us from addressing the concerns. Despite repeated promises that payment was forthcoming, payment was never received for the work performed. As a result, we were left with no alternative but to pursue legal action. After hearing the evidence, the court ruled in our favor. During those proceedings, the property owner acknowledged that this roof had leaked multiple times before our involvement and that other contractors had attempted repairs both before and after our work, with the same recurring issues. We stand behind our workmanship and always strive to resolve concerns directly with our customers whenever possible. We regret that this matter ultimately required legal intervention, but we remain committed to providing honest recommendations and quality service. In this case, the recurring leaks were indicative of a roof that required replacement rather than continued patch repairs.

ruined my parents roof, expected us to pay for it. Left materials in our driveway for months after supposed "work" was done.

Unsure what the review is for? We have searched our records and do not have any account or interaction with this name. Unsure why you would post something negative to our page without any additional information

Horrible company to deal with. Just move on. They sub all their work out and by the quality of it they pick their crews up off the street. They came to my home without notice at 10pm to look for garbage in the yard and remove dumpster. Left …

I am sorry you feel this way. We did your job back in 2021. At no time during or after the job did you complain of any craftsmanship problems. When you refused to pay your bill we unfortunately had to take legal actions. The judge also agreed and found in our favor. Two additional years passed and still no payment. Now that we had to have a wage garnishment you are upset with your employer knowing of the situation. We have done everything we were supposed to in the contract. You benefited from the work. We were never paid. As always we wish you the best and would hope if had a bad experience you would have mentioned it when the work was completed. This post is posted by an upset homeowner who is mad that he wasn't able to get away with free work.

I know management has reached out to you. It appears that a new sales rep was assigned to your lead and unfortunately was unfamiliar with quoting your project. We apologize for the inconvenience and have used this as a training exercise for our newer sales reps. Thank you,

Before contracting with Expert Roofing, home owners should be informed about what they may be getting themselves into. I can’t claim to know this is how every one of their jobs goes, but in my personal experience, I found Expert to be exceptional at all initial contact and communication, getting my insurance to pay in full for the re-roofing project, putting on a new roof looks excellent from afar, and avoiding adequately correcting the multiple installation errors they made. Although the roof looked shiny and new from the ground, when I got up on the roof myself to see their work after they completed, I found numerous mistakes. There were shortcuts and workmanship errors in just about every aspect of their work: the flashing, gutter apron, fascia, torn shingles, and missing ice and water shield around vents. These are things most homeowners are not getting up on their roof to see nor would they know what to look for - but these mistakes increase the likelihood of leaks and future damages.

We have not only gone to this customers house and readdressed all issues but gave the customer credits based upon work we did not do as well as additional credits per the homeowner's request. The amount of times that we went to address any issues, the homeowner pushed us off and refused to call us back to set up a date and look at the property. He never let us address anything. instead he wanted to play "lets make a deal" and wanted to charge us for him being available to come to his house. The roof was replaced years ago and the client has not called and had any issues in regards to the work which was completed. Once we closed out the project the client continues to blast us over every social media platform. Again, this client has taken a personal malice in blasting us negatively when all we tried to do was help him out.

Be aware! They will quote you one thing and add extra charges, even if it does not match what is paid out my insurance. I am the one who had to do all the leg work with my insurance. This all fell on me not Expert. Office staff are rude and pushy. The siding is falling apart on my house and when asked about it they refuse to fix it untill be give them final payment. We refuse to give final payment untill they fix it. She wrote: We will need the final payment and I can get it addressed right away. Since all the work has been completed for some time now the final payment is due. Currently the account is past due. Please note if the account gets turned over to our attorney the warranty is void. Please remit final payment so we can get this addressed promptly. So they are threatening to void our warranty and turn is over to attorney. Bottom line they do not follow through with what they say they will do and do shotty work and over charge you.

There were no extra charges, but rather nonrecoverable depreciation on items which we did not do. We credited the work that we did not do back to you, and you still refused to pay your balance as you felt that we should credit back funds which your insurance carrier did release (based on nonrecoverable depreciation). After months of not paying, you stated that you had a piece of siding which looked loose - when it was only expanding due to weather (which is normal). You asked us to come and look at it which we had no problem doing but it would be covered under warranty. Unfortunately without paying the bill there was no warranty as explained via email on multiple occasions. This was pointed out in the contract again. You ended up paying the balance and we had someone out immediately. Again, we invoiced you off what your insurance agreed to pay and followed through with all terms of the contract. Per your email you even stated, that you understand everything and you apologized. Yet still posted a poor review on social media. We have gone above and beyond for you and did not overcharge at all just pointed out how much the insurance company paid out. Bottom line, we did all the work and then some and your house looks great! We wish you nothing but the best

My roof inspection with David was great. He was very professional , punctual and thorough. I appreciated how he took the time explain the process to me as a first timer, even helped me go over my insurance policy. As a new home owner this made me feel confident that I had found the right company.

Expert Roofing did a great job with this roofing project. I couldn’t be more pleased. I was given a thoroughly explained estimate complete with current photos of potential problems both outside and in the attic as well as what kind of quality materials, a list of what would be done, and guaranteed.i also appreciated choosing a charity that expert roofing would be giving towards from this drift project. Max the project manager came a couple days later. He answered every question I had and explained with clear detail of what the project would entail, and how long it would take. When the project was done, Max came back and inspected the roof thoroughly, And went through a checklist of everything that was accomplished on the roof. Landscaping was covered, tarp laid down, and everything was nicely cleaned up. It was a good experience.

Expert Roofing did a great job from start to finish on our home. David and Alvin were transparent and detailed with a quote for our new skylight, ridge vent upgrades and overall roof replacement (in addition to being very helpful/patient with shingle color selection). The crew provided quality in the installation process and did a great clean up. Beautiful job well done!

Austin has been great. Quick to respond and very experienced and informative about the insurance process with storm damage. Very comforting to feel like we’re in a good spot and good hands before insurance reaches out to us. Also his helper Thor 12/10!

What Actually Qualifies for a Roof Hail Insurance Claim in Crystal Lake, Illinois? Not every roof that gets hit by hail qualifies for a full insurance claim. Insurance companies are looking for functional storm damage, not just an old roof with wear and tear. Here are the biggest signs your roof may qualify for a hail damage insurance claim in Crystal Lake or the surrounding McHenry County area: ·️ Missing or lifted shingles ·️ Bruised or cracked shingles from hail impact ·️ Granule loss exposing the asphalt underneath ·️ Dents on vents, flashing, gutters, or metal components ·️ Leaks, water stains, or attic moisture after a storm ·️ Damage found on multiple slopes of the roof ·️ Evidence of recent hail or wind storms in your area Many Illinois homeowners don’t realize hail damage can weaken the lifespan of a roof even before leaks appear. In some cases, hidden storm damage may still qualify months after the storm depending on the policy. If you suspect storm damage: 1️⃣ Schedule a professional roof inspection 2️⃣ Take photos of visible damage 3️⃣ Document the storm date if possibleMay 6, 2026
