  Received a proposal from Al, and politely decided not to move forward due to some questionable itemized expenses and overall cost of repair being one of the highest out of all quotes received. Al’s response was as follows “So you think you learned when you spent 13k for a roof rip that leaks, did they come back, let me guess they wanted more money. Its ok cause I know why your leaking but I didn't put the main reason on the estimate, and Im sure whoever is going to do the work will not find it cause its not in a logical area. But your good” Very unprofessional demeanor and poor customer service. I may have used them for another service in the future, but after such a demeaning response, I’ll make sure to stay clear. Products they use are also borderline HD quality and not commercial. *EDIT - Response to Company* - I never called him last year & I have not called him more than once. They followed up with ME on the ONE proposal I received to see if I wanted to move forward where I politely declined. I am not trying to use their proposal to get “cheaper work”, money isn’t the issue, I just want the job done correctly. They quoted me to add a plethora of unnecessary add-ons like mushroom caps on a 1,200 sq foot roof that already has a very large Gable vent… several other unnecessary repairs were recommended. The original roof installed was done poorly, god forbid a homeowner has to deal with a poor contractor and has to pursue damages. That is completely besides the point. The roofer who I am moving forward with to do the fix is fully insured and licensed - Al ‘the owner’ is just pulling out false information to slander me back as he’s completely unprofessional and lacks common decency. I took up essentially none of their time, they gave me a quote, I asked 2 questions via email, they followed up via email, and I declined to move forward.   Edit: You must have called so many roofers that you forgot that you called us last year, even before you hired the contractor that you are now suing. Even after calling our pricing "bloated", we still came back to give you another quote because we felt bad for you. You state we quoted you for unnecessary items such mushrooms vents, which by the way are necessary for proper flat-roof ventilation. Flat roof's do not have ridges, therefore cannot have ridge vents. You keep calling us for estimates and then using our diagnosis to get the work done cheaper. How much did you save when now you had to pay legal fees to sue that roofer? Why do you keep calling me if you have another roofer, which by the way DOES NOT have any workman's comp. A one year old roof should not be leaking, so do me a favor and don't call me any more as you value cheap work over quality work. You're already suing your old roofer because he does such fabulous work at a great price!!! Also your new roofer does not have workman's comp, that's why they are so affordable. The last time you called me I let it go and told me I was too much, but you keep calling me, so stop wasting our time.

  This was the first of the 20 negative one star review thread that was posted to our account. These reviews from Bangladesh were paid for by our competitor that feels threatened by our company. They need to remember that cheaters never prosper.

  We paid $31k for a roof that continues to leak, the warranty was voided by Elite Roofing so they won't repair it, and every time you call Al he just yells at you. Would never use again.

  Phillip, We have tried multiple times to discuss the matter with you. Your contract was voided due to the fact that first, you have an outstanding balance since October 2022. Second, as stated in the contract that you signed, your warranty was voided because you had unauthorized service/alterations done on your newly installed roof. You had multiple different contractors (plumbers, HVAC, electrical contractors, etc.) cut holes into our pristine roof, MULTIPLE times even after warning you, without ever informing us, leaving it open to the elements for months, destroying the brand new roof that we installed on your property. If we would have been notified of these alternations before they were done, we could have worked with these outside contractors to let them know what the best route would be for the necessary work to be done. If they were professional contractors, they should have followed the architectural plans, and you wouldn't have this issue now. As the general contractor on your job, you should know that this isn't the proper way to get the work done. We cannot warranty your roof due to the fact multiple outside contractors came and damaged the roof by putting holes, pipes, nails, and installing scaffolding directly into our roof. We advised you multiple times on what you can and cannot do to the roof; you were told to never cut into the roof without having us present, yet you chose not heed our advice. We have helped you time and time again, for free, due to your budgetary constraints and feeling sorry for the predicament you were in. After the third time of putting holes in the roof, we sent you an invoice to fix these issues, yet you looked and blatantly ignored us for months. It seems that we were good enough to fix all of your problems but not good enough to pay your balance. Now, you inform us of a leak on the second floor, so it's automatically the roof that's leaking, when obviously you do not have any gutters collecting the water from the four scu

  We find it very odd that you would write a review in mid December about something that you claim transpired back in September. You waited 3 whole months to write this negative review. This makes us think that you are trying to sabotage our stellar reviews for some type of personal gain, perhaps monetary from a local competitor. Our scheduler had an unexpected major stroke that left her disabled, unable to speak, and unable to return to her position. Our staff was trying to pick up the pieces without any feedback from this employee. We did the best we could to pick up where she left off. Her computer notes stated that you did not respond to the confirmation email or the confirmation voicemail. We still sent roofers to your house on September 29th but we gave you a 4 hour window, and not a 2 hour window like you stated. We do not do 2 hour windows. We tried calling you while the roofers were there, and you did not answer. Perhaps, this is why you missed the roofers when they showed up. We followed up again two weeks later, because we thought you may have forgotten about the appt. or that something else had come up. We did this as courtesy, as we were just coming out of Hurricane Ida back in September when you first called our company. Just like a poem open to interpretation, we thought we did our best, but I guess our best wasn't good enough. We are sorry that we could not please you!

  My wife & I contracted Elite Roofing to refurbish my flat roof in Jersey City in late-January of 2022. My main objectives were to (a) create a slope effect on the flat roof such that little or no sitting water would remain longer than 24 hours after rainfall subsides, and (b) to reduce the amount of moisture entering the house by improving the fascia and guttering. After the work was done, in the ensuing weeks, I checked whether there was still sitting water on the roof after rainfall. There was and continues to generally always be six by three feet of sitting water on the roof, an insignificant reduction from the previous amount of sitting water. And while the fascia quality was improved, Elite Roofing tried to charge me after the work was done for "gutter guards" despite my having communicated beforehand that gutter guards and no sitting water were necessities, and being assured both of these issues would be addressed. They weren't. What bothers me far more than these issues -- things don't always get done completely in one pass, I get it -- was the owner's (Al Torrella's) attitude when I raised these concerns. He had the audacity to write to me in an email, "There is always going to be some water on a flat roof." The problem with that untruthful explanation is that my house is attached to a neighbor's property which also has a flat roof. That roof almost never has sitting water on it, and never for more than 24 hours after rainfall has stopped. This was quite insulting to my intelligence and immensely disappointing. I strongly recommend against contracting with Elite Roofing. Don't be fooled by the 4.9 star rating -- this was $9100 poorly spent on my part. Beyond frustrating. Feel free to contact me directly if you'd like me to elaborate. Go ahead and read my other reviews - I do not like writing negative reviews but it had to be done on this occasion.

  If you value your time, I would not recommend this company. We had to contact them about 5 times to get a quote. Almost each time we had to re-explain everything that was needed to get done. Worst was that twice they told us that they would come and they never showed up. We took off work to be there and welcome them, we even sent them a kindly reminder on prior days to the meeting ... and they still didn't show up. Twice. Not professional.

  I was in search of a reliable and professional roofing company to provide me with a roof inspection report for a home I was planning on purchasing in Historic Downtown Jersey City, NJ, and I was lucky enough to find Elite Roofing. Their inspection report was extremely detailed and thorough, and I was even able to use the findings to help negotiate the purchase price of the property! They also included an estimate for the repairs that were needed, which gave me a much better understanding of the condition of the roof and the potential costs involved. Thank you, Elite Roofing, for all of your help throughout the process. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in Historic Downtown Jersey City or the surrounding area who is in need of a professional roof inspection!

  Elite Roofing did an outstanding job on my old Victorian home in Jersey City. They stripped the old roof down to the wood and put up a new TPO white roof. The crew led by Mike was efficient, attending to all the details and cleaned up so my neighbors were not bothered. Al was on top of things, which let me feel confident that everything would be done right. Highly recommend.

  My roof was completely redone. I am very happy. Functional, of course, really nice looking. I share an attached roof but now I have boundaries defining my roof. The roof was evened out as well. Everyone who worked on my roof was courteous and professional. I was extremely happy with how my questions and requests were handled and addressed. I had a good feeling when my estimate was given, and they proved my confidence correct. Elite did not disappoint!

  Home renovations can be stressful, especially when you’re trusting someone to work on your home. Elite Roofing made the entire process easy and worry free from start to finish. The team was professional, knowledgeable, respectful, and truly cared about doing a great job. They documented the project and shared the photos with me, which gave me a lot of peace of mind.   10 stars . Al the owner Al is great. The office managers Sophie and Karen made me feel so comfortable and took a long time giving me all the pertinent information I needed . Very kind and empathetic. The work that was done on my gutters that seemed unfixable and I thought everything had to be replaced , well , the workers were able to save me so much $ with their honesty and the gutters were fixed and my serious issues are gone. I have used handymen ( from FB) 👎 before and I have paid so much and wasted so much money Use Elite . Glad I did ......
