Royal Howell was the representative for BCR that I worked with. He was there from inspection to insurance appraisal….and I thought the rest would go well....but I was sadly mistaken. The installation was a nightmare. The crew caused property damage (hardwired landscape lighting was sheered off and broken, bushes and trees with broken branches, outside furniture was piled up against a fence and in my bushes in the back yard, and a huge amount of roofing nails were left lying in my driveway/flowerbeds, and even down in my AC units). I was told that it would be taken care of....IT NEVER WAS. I picked up all he nails, and I even stepped on one. I had to trim all the damaged bushes and shrubbery. I had to move all the furniture back into place (and I am a frail 64 yo woman). The roof itself had excessive granular loss. I complained multiple times, and it took months before Royal came back to look for himself. He told me that he thought it was a batch of defective shingles, and that he would report his concerns to his boss. I also showed him the pile of damaged lights, and the bucket of roofing nails that I had picked up. I had pictures of the other damage. I don't know if he ever did anything with the info because I have never been contacted by management or anyone interested in hearing my disappointment and frustration. I paid thousands of dollars extra for a warranty, and I have yet to receive it, despite asking multiple times. I am so disgusted. Please don't use this company. Avoid the same experience.

1 star is the least you can give and leave a review. They had a crew here and tore off and put on same day. The roof is being pulled up due to them not securing the gutter guards properly afterwards. Which after contacting many times, they now say is not their issue. Avoid these people. One person sold the product and showed at end of day for final inspection. The finance company will also be called. Bad company.

Kenny stopped by when my insurance adjuster was inspecting my roof and inspected it too. He was not requested to inspect it. Then he left a note on my door saying I had hail damage on my roof and to call him. I don’t know much about This process. But he sent me a contract as a roofing company even before my claim was submitted and told me that I had to sign and check box 6 of the contingency clause that said I would use them if my claim was approved. He said my adjuster had to have that signed before my adjuster could submit my claim. I called my insurance adjuster and he told me that was a lie. He said that Kenny nor this company had any involvement with my claim. My insurance adjuster filed the claim and I no longer answered Kenny‘s calls. I finally had to block him. But he kept emailing me the contract. Someone else I know had the same experience with them but they checked box 6 and signed. But the homeowner didn’t realize what that meant and they decided to use another company. Then this company threatened to sue them. But the company finally said it wasn’t worth the lawyer fees. Beware, do not sign anything for anybody until the roofing job is complete! And do not trust Kenny!

Worst choice roofing. The crew came and left all their food trash in my yard knowing I had dogs. There were chicken bones, apple cores, and orange peels everywhere and bags of unopened food left in my yard. They had to come back the next day to finish but that was super disrespectful of them to leave it. The quality of work was not great either. The ridge vent at the top of the roof is crooked and there was a very soft spot that was not taken care of, the wood was left rotten. My roof has slats and there was nothing in the contract saying how much they would cost just the cost of plywood only. When I opened my attic several pieces of wood came flying down and everything up there was covered in debris. Talked to the manager and he’s doing nothing about it didn’t even care and thought I was funny it seemed. Crew shows up at 7am smelling like marajuana. Found many nails and pieces of tar paper in the yard after completion. They charged me over 18k for this roof replacement. The only good thing was Jessie grimes the rep from there he was polite and respectful the whole time. Please don’t make a huge mistake by having them replace your roof you’ll regret it I promise you.

I read all the wonderful reviews before choosing to use Best Choice Roofing. My next door neighbors highly recommended them. After getting several estimates before talking with them, I felt that they were my best option. Little did I know it was a huge mistake. I discovered that Best Choice uses subcontractors to do the work. The crew was later than I expected but by 8:30 they began to work. I will point out that it was July and the forecast was high 90s with a chance of storms. Long story but basically they removed my entire roof, began to put new roof on and a big downpour with frequent lightening rolled in during early afternoon. It leaked throughout my home. Fortunately I was at home, as I had to remove pictures from the walls, move furniture and mop up water to prevent damage to my floors and furnishings. It took more than 6 weeks to get money from my homeowners insurance to make the repairs. Damages exceeded 10k but after my insurance settled with their insurance, I still had over a thousand out of pocket. My home was a construction zone for 3 and a half weeks. I had to pack up 5 rooms and a walk-in closet so the work could be completed. Once the ceilings were replaced, the rooms had to be painted. I painted the rooms because the insurance settlement did not cover the cost of having it done. I was without a kitchen for 8 days and had to eat out during this time. Finally, when the interior repairs were completed, I had a huge cleaning job as everything was coated with the dust from sanding the sheetrock. In addition to all this, the roofing crew trampled my landscaping, dislodged landscaping borders and moved heavy concrete planters that I had to get someone to replace. I also want to point out that I called Travis and told him of the approaching storm. I requested that they tarp my roof and he said I had nothing to worry about! All the damages to my home, my stress and this big inconvenience was 100% completely avoidable and due to negligence. This wh

Looking at all these five stars, I must have gotten the wrong Best Choice Roofing. I was left with damaged shingles, exposed nails in the top of shingles and a very sloppy sealing job around the chimney flashing. Drip molding was also not installed on the front porch. If I would've known they use subcontractors I would've never used this company, they don't even come out and inspect the work that was done.

Recently, my husband and I had the pleasure of doing business with Best Choice Roofing. If you've ever had to replace your roof, then you know what a daunting task that can be. But our task was made easier because of Royall Howell from the Hickory NC office. Royall helped from start to finish. In just 14 days our roof was installed and we could not be happier. We highly recommend Best Choice Roofing abd be sure to ask for Royall. Ken and Lynn Anderson Morganton NC

Royall has been a consummate professional from day one, guiding me patiently through each step of a process I was unfamiliar with until now. He went out of his way (literally...to another county) on at least 3 occasions, as I could not get off work while the BCR office was open. My new roof is beautiful!
