UPDATE TO MY "DON'T USE!!!" POST About a year and a half after I moved from this house (I moved 3 years ago) I was contacted by my realtor. Apparently the new homeowner had a leak in the roof. New homeowner contacted my realtor who contacted me. I was told Alpine refused to repair the leak covered under the warranty unless I removed my bad review. I tried to remove the post to help the new homeowner but couldn't figure out how. Don't know what came of it. DON’T USE!!! paid $20,000 for a new roof and gutters. After several years I noticed a leak coming from my vent stack into the basement. I contacted the owner Joe Harrison. He refused to come out and look at the problem and called me a liar. Told me to “move on”. He also hired guys who improperly installed my gutters which had to be redone. I had to pay another company to replace my vent stack. They found the seal was loose and the shingles didn’t fit properly around it.

Robins statements are simply untrue we installed a beautiful roof on her home that included the replacement of all the plywood reframing of a porch extending overhangs adding insulation and proper ventilation we removed over 40 yards of debris in order to fix all the problems. She called a couple years later claiming a chimney leak that it was done in properly and she had someone else look at it. I found photographs showing it was done correctly ran water test and was unable to get chimney to ever leak. The roof was installed correctly the gutters we installed are still on the house and functioning properly a shield had to be installed in one corner to catch the water other than that they’re still on the house functioning as they should

We purchased a home with a roof that Alpine Roofing installed about five years ago as part of an insurance claim. Recently, we discovered a small leak and contacted the company for assistance and check warranty. What disappointed us most was the response. Instead of offering to inspect the roof to determine whether the issue was related to workmanship, a material defect, or even a possible manufacturer warranty claim, we were immediately told there was no warranty because the roof was installed through an insurance claim. We weren't demanding a free roof replacement. We simply expected a roofing contractor to take enough pride in its work to at least investigate the problem and help determine the cause. Even if the issue ultimately wasn't covered by their workmanship warranty, a professional company should be willing to assess whether it could fall under a manufacturer warranty or another form of coverage. The complete lack of interest in inspecting the roof or helping us understand our options left us feeling that the company does not stand behind its work. Customer service doesn't end when the installation is complete, and unfortunately that was not our experience.

AGAIN A BAD REVIEW FOR WORK WE DID NOT DO Thanks Megan for taking the time to write a review for my company. We absoultly warranty all of our work however; according to our records we did not install any bath vents on that house. (your husband said that is where the leak is)? Nor did we hook them up. We quit hooking up the bath vents in the attic 15 years ago. I would gladly come by for a roof inspection but was never asked to. Our conversation on the phone was regarding the warranty. Your shingle has a lifetime warranty and transfers for free you actually sent that information to me in a text. I also spoke with your husband regarding adding cellulose insulation to the attic. He did not seem to believe me when I told him the dust would certainly block all the ridge vent filters and we have seen nothing but problems with that product. I did send him a video and told him to install R-30 Faced insulation then either blown in fiberglass or R-19 Un Faced on top for an R-49 value. Hope this helps if you are looking to replace the bath vents that are in the roof it runs $300 each and can be done in a few days time. You also asked me about gutters we installed. We did not burry any pipe in the ground that must have also been done by previous homeowner. Hope this helps

Don't trust this company. I was going to let it go but I stumbled across a review by Robin D that described a situation the same as mine and thought people need to know what kind of company they are dealing with. Roof and gutters were installed around 7 years ago. Everything looked fine up to last spring when we noticed some water dripping, leaking from soffits. After calling Joe the nightmare started. He blamed me, my house and everything he could think of that he is not responsible for it. At one point he actually argued that i had an extra low pitch roof less than 4-12 even though he knows he was totally wrong he tried to make me believe it was because of this i had the problems. I really wasn't even asking for him to cover anything just to fix the problem. Gutters & guards originally installed wrong and drip edge all pulled up from gutter installation allowed ice to build up and get under shingles and after some time the problem created the leaks coming from the soffit slowly but eventually a huge problem. When they tore off the old roof the soffit board was too high past roofs edge. Instead of saying anything about it and fixing the problem they just shingled over it. This created a channel where water was collecting and freezing in winter. I had other companies look at the roof and they noticed this immediately and told me they would never do this. He did not take any responsibility for the gutters he had subcontracted to install, but he did say they had problems with the company and no longer do business. A few years after the gutters were installed I went to clean the gutters because trees were growing out of them out and found slope wrong. I tried to call Joe but he didn't answer so I changed the slope on one side of the roof so they drained properly. He slammed his gutter company but would not take any responsibility. I called Alpine out as soon as I noticed I had ice damns for repair. They replaced 3 rows of shingles at the roof edge with different sh

Thanks Steve For taking the time to write a review. Seven years ago we did install a great roof on this house. There were a lot of things done by the homeowner and other contractors that caused ice dams to occur. I never received a call about any ice dams. I did go out and look at a leak and explained it had nothing to do with any of our workmanship, but rather poor workmanship by other contractors the homeowner hired ( bashing other contractors I guess). We gave an estimate to try to fix the issues again caused by someone else and were able to stop the leak. I spent countless hours talking with Steve about all the problems he has had with this house and did not want to do any more work for him or on this house. Had I know all the problems I certainty would of recommended a completely different course of action for this roof. Hope this helps

I called and my wife called twice. Never got a response back from them. Completely wasted my time.

Thanks aw for taking the time to write us a 1 star review. We take great pride in knowing we are a 5 Star company with 0 bad reviews for work we have actually performed. l do see where two calls were returned and we went by the property and met with the Husband I believe. We are not doing repair work at this time because we are short handed and we only repair past customers at this time. I guess we need to video document all stops? Please refer to reviews for actual work performed. Thanks Joe Harrison Owner Alpine Roofing

Asked for a quote for front side of roof. Much higher than other bids. Said they didn't care either way if they get the job. We will pay a bit higher if local company & customer service is good. Not with his attitude. Very disappointed.

Glad we passed on this one, again a bad review for work we will never do or for customer we have never met. Looking at roof from google image gave rough estimate for $10400.00. Seems high if you don't know what we are selling. I would look at the reviews from customers who actually hired us and love the work we did for them.

Set an appointment with them, they called to change it then didn't show up for that one. Called me an hour and fifteen minutes later and argued with me about the time. Guess they have plenty of things to do. Perhaps they should take a little time to learn to respect the potential customer's time.

    Reply from the business

Thanks Steve for taking the time to write a review about my company. We take pride in being the # 1 local roofing company and we hate to see bad reviews but sometimes it happens. Our appointment time frame is always a 1 hour window. I was 15 minutes late I agree. When I called you said not to come over and I conceded and said have a nice weekend. Thanks again and sorry we couldn't meet your needs.

I know the owner knows what he is doing but he was condescending and made me feel like we didn't know what we were doing/did. Based on how I felt when he left and the 3 other roofers that told me the opposite, I won't be giving them my money.

Alpine roofing replaced the roof on our house and two outbuildings. Very professional and a great job of cleaning up. I would recommend Alpine roofing for any of your roofing needs.

My roof was less than 9 years old and I had water issues on my ceiling this winter. I called multiple companies to inspect the issue and provide quotes as the previous company was no longer in business. A neighbor had worked with Alpine and recommended I contact them. Joe came out quickly and gave me a thorough analysis of the problem. He recommended replacing the roof and redoing the soffits because of airflow. He also recommended adding a ridge vent versus cans due to the pitch of my roof. I selected the highest grade shingle with the longer warranty hoping this will be the last roof I have to replace. I added larger gutters and gutter guards to the project so everything would be complete with the same contractor. I am confident all the work performed is to code and am happy with the finished product.

Jamie, thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for my company. I really appreciate it. I know it’s frustrating when we have to do so much extra work to fix what the other contractor did and a lot of Cases you already paid for at once, we understand we’re consumers too. I’m glad it all turned out the way it did. You will not have any more issues with the new roof on the new ventilation system and that is guaranteed thanks again.

What a Professional Roof Inspection Includes in Oakland County (And What Homeowners Miss) If you own a home in Oakland County, a professional roof inspection is your best defense against leaks, rot, and surprise repairs. The right evaluation looks at the roof surface, the flashing, and the attic so small problems do not turn into big ones. When you book an Oakland County roof inspection with Alpine Roofing Complete, you get a clear, photo-documented plan that puts your home first. Michigan’s freeze-thaw cycles, heavy spring rains, and summer sun are hard on shingles and sealants. Neighborhoods from Rochester Hills and Troy to Lake Orion and West Bloomfield see different wind and shade patterns, which means each roof ages in its own way. A careful inspection accounts for these local realities.May 14, 2026Learn more
